Samsung Galaxy S3

Eish...

Samsung Galaxy S III explodes, causes still unknown

There was a time when the exploding iPhones got huge media coverage. Today the case is quite similar – the hottest phone on the market – the Galaxy S III – became even hotter to the point of catching fire.

The unpleasant incident occurred in the UK. A white Galaxy S III bought from Carphone Warehouse was attached to a car mount when suddenly white flames started coming from its the bottom. Here are some pictures:

The dead Galaxy S III is all over the internet already. Luckily the guy is unharmed and he got a new phone directly from Samsung, while the problematic unit has been sent to the company's headquarters for detailed investigation.

It’s just an isolated case for now and we hope it stays that way. Samsung has already released an official statement:

"There have been recent online posts displaying pictures of a Samsung GALAXY SIII that appears to have heat-related damage at the bottom of the device. Samsung is aware of this issue and will begin investigating as soon as we receive the specific product in question.
Once the investigation is complete, we will be able to provide further details on the situation. We are committed to providing our customers with the safest products possible and are looking at this seriously."

Light flow led is an awesome app for the S3. Controls the rgb led notification light. Any colour you can think off. Well almost.

Awesome app this - now I just need to set it up properly...

I've figured it all out - just will takes some time to customise it exactly as I want it.

Picked up an S3 today. Super stoked. I planned to get a blue one but imo the white one is classier. I can't understand the Touchwiz hate - I much prefer it to the Sense UI. This phone really looks like a piece of future-tech.

Share. My notifications don't turn off and sometimes appear at random

All I did was turn lightflow on in the Accessibility settings menu - and everything pretty much worked from there.

Just make sure for each notification type that you enable in Lightflow that you select the appropriate "Clear notification style" option.

Yup. I'm figuring it out based on the debugger widget.

I wanted to get an S3 today... but the only have them in white :(

I also hope that Samsung make a decent car dock, that has a built in microusb connector (with audio out). Does the Samsung S3 have a "Car Mode" application like the HTC One X?
