Okay it looks like you need to look at your pda version. If you are on I9300XXELLB perhaps try v7.

/I would still do a nand backup to be safe.

I am on the latest 4.1.2. Downloaded from sammobile.com. So mine is v7 but when i try install it my phone got stuck. I dont know if i am doing it correctly. Help me with the steps!

LOL demanding... I suppose you would just flash it via recovery like with most of these mods. Perhaps you should tell us exactly how you are installing it and where it gets "stuck" etc. BTW I am not using this, just trying to help.

1. Backup!!
2. Flash the zip file
3. reboot
And then it got stuck!

Understandable, but these appear to be Google services that are draining battery. If it is Google Now then I'm happy to switch it off. If it is sync then I need to find a way to schedule sync properly as it seems pointless for google to be constantly syncing my contacts and bookmarks...

2 weeks or so ago I had a sudden battery drain, also attributed to Google Services. It turned out that one component of Google Services never completed its sync, and therefore kept the phone awake as it retried. In my case it was the Internet sync, something from my Chrome setup in my Google account interferes with it. I disabled Internet sync and the battery drain went away.

Google Now doesn't use that much, in my experience. It's noticable, but not dramatic.

Google now might be low if your data is off. Also there's multiple system apps that Google now is responsible for calling
 
So a friend of mine got his Galaxy S3 LTE today from Vodashop Fourways and it came with the UK charger, anyone else had this happen to them???
 
I've had my S3 for just over a month now and after going through the "Android Useful Apps" thread I decided to install another launcher as so many here have recommended.

I went ahead and grabbed all three of the bad boys i.e. Apex, Nova and GO Launcher EX. Now I will admit that all 3 badly kick the standard launcher (Touchwiz) where it hurts in terms of customization's/options/themes but what I do find very bothersome is the lack of unread counts (for sms/email/gmail/missed calls etc) on all 3 of these "fantastic" launchers.

I find it very convenient and informative to see (on my icons) that I have 10 unread messages, 3 unread emails and 2 missed calls for example and I'd probably stick with Touchwiz just for that functionality. I see that if I purchase Nova Prime I'll only be able to get unread counts for Gmail, missed calls, SMS and Google Talk (which I don't use) and then I'll need to grab TeslaUnread to enable unread counts for the default email app (which I use). Sure R36 (for Prime) is not exactly a truckload of money but I find it a bit of a shlep to pay for something that the standard but yet limited Touchwiz supports natively.

Yes I'm using Nova Prime + TeslaUnread. Bought Prime on promotion cheaply.
 
If you're using Go Launcher then Go notifications is free the last I checked. I've moved on to Apex, UCCW and Desktop Visualizer to create my own custom home screens which allows me to create custom notifications, so haven't used Go Launcher in a while...
 
I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I've delayed my upgrade for a year and finally decided on this phone.

Does anyone know if VC is running any specials on it with the talk packages? Would be a on a Talk 240, Talk350s or Talk500.

Why did you delay your upgrade? Normally a large portion of the payment goes towards the phone you received for free, so for a whole year you've given pure profit to Vodacom. And why are you staying with Vodacom? They have the worst prices in SA.

The Galaxy S4 is going to be announced soon btw.
