Can honestly say I haven't experienced any of the bad signal/WiFi or overheating issues with my S6. It does what it needs to and it's a great phone. My Mrs has experienced the "rainbow screen of death" on hers, though, and her battery had to be replaced. We got our phones on the same day about 1.5 years ago, and mine's still going strong. Apparently it depends on whether or not your phone was made in Korea or China, with the latter giving all the problems.

My upgrade should come round a couple of months after the S8 is out, which should be enough time for the smoke to clear with regards to reviews, etc. Still quite keen on the Pixel tbh.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have three resolution options, including HD+ (1480 x 720), Full HD+ (2220 x 1080), and WQHD+ (2960 x 1440).

The “+” sign used after each resolution identifier above is meant to highlight the fact that these aren’t regular smartphone screen resolutions. The Galaxy S8 is much taller than any other phone, which means the overall aspect ratio will change.

In fact, as you can clearly see here, we’re looking at an aspect ratio bigger than the usual 16:9 you’d expect to see on a smartphone. It’s even greater than the 2:1 (18:9) ratio, which is the aspect ratio LG talked so much about during its G6 launch event in late February.

EDIT: Why three resolution options? Are they going to try and sell a outside of USA/Europe version with worse specs to places like South Africa? Or will it be the cut-down mid-range version?

The resolution options are all on the same phone, the same as the S7 has two at the moment... performance management and battery related tunings

It still has all the pixels on though, just displaying a lower resolution image? It shouldn't have that much of an effect on battery life unless you're doing something more hardware intensive like gaming.
