Hahahahahahahaha. No, you will only piss them off. That, and they have the authority to take the money out of your bank account. It would have been nice if you could yave done that.

Filed on Friday afternoon
SOA now showing zero balance, so I expect a beep-beep tonight :D
 
I requested a Statement of Account now and it is blank. Return was filed on 01/07 and the refund due was reflected as R3.5K.

The Notice of Assessment date 01/07 has the correct refund amount and I notice now that the refund date is listed as 2017/08/01. Does this mean I must wait till next month now??

My condolences. And yes, the Electronic Refund date is the date they are paying you.

Since I've seen quite a few saying their refund date is in August only, I assume they're short of money and are waiting for the July PAYE to come in first. Not a good sign.

Try using Internet Explorer instead of Chrome.

Log in to e-filing, if there is a "Statement of account" section on your default screen you can simply request the statement of account there. Alternatively you'll need to click on "SARS Correspondence" on the left hand menu, then "request historic IT notices" and you should be able to request a statement of account there.

why wait all the weekend then select tomorrow's date for refund? Can't it be done immediately? Had to be admitted to hospital due to anxiety caused by these delays!!!:sick:

I don't see a refund date. The assessment date is 1 August.
 
My colleague says he hasn't had a tax return paid out to him for years now, although he does submit it yearly.

He's been to SARS every year, and they tell him that it has been sorted, and each time they give him a timeframe of 7 to 21 working days before it will be fully sorted, yet it just never happens.

Understandably he's fed up now with taking a day off work every time to wait in SARS' queues with no results despite their promises. They just say "it's a glitch on your account". Surely this isn't fair on him.

What steps are there to escalate something like this? They probably owe him over 50k now in total.

This is the only error he gets, nothing more descriptive unfortunately:
