SARS E-Filing 2018

Yep. Escalated mine Tuesday. Still not a single change, nothing has been updated or changed, and no communication.

I think there is a serious issue with sars they are not sticking to their 21 working day agreement and there seems to be an it glitch
 
Stuck on "busy preparing your form..."

Anyone know if it's normal to wait more than 20 minutes for a form to be prepared?
I've updated my Adobe plugin and tried on two different browsers, cleared my cache...
 
Oh, just tried a third browser and it worked almost instantly...(Safari) :)
 
Anyone lodged an objection and had a response yet? Lodged additional on the 03/08/2018
 
Never been audited mine still shows documents for review submitted no second line yet, have you checked your letters to see what the requirement is, the last thing you want to do is submit the same stuff and have them make you wait another 21 days, the turn around time for an audit is 90 days, if no letter then best to call in and check

So I phoned SARS, number 505 in the queue... 40 minutes later...
They confirm that the audit timeline has expired, and my case has already been escalated.
Nothing is outstanding and all I can do is wait for a response from them.

This really sucks... been looking forward to the money since the first of last month.

Same. They apparently have 7 business days to complete this escalation by, but honestly I have no hopes of them making that deadline either. I was told that they would "not let that happen" though, so I have no idea.

PS I've had more luck and wasted less money using the "call me back" option under Help Me eFile. That way you can keep at your business while waiting for them to call you back.

The call center agent now linked my call to the original escalation... which was done on the 01/08/2018.
So dont get your hopes up with regards to the 7 business day escalation deadline.
 
It sounds like a lot of us are currently waiting. They are probably just overwhelmed. It looks like a lot more people have to provide verification documents than in previous years.

What frustrates me the most is that when I called them I asked "is there something missing? What's the hold up?" the centre agent said nothing is missing, they simply didn't close my verification. So I'm being delayed by nothing other than someone's plain incompetence and ability to see outstanding work.

I agree but,if they 'increased the criteria' for verification and auditing.
Surely they should of anticipated the volumes and employed temporary staff to assist with the load?
Just my opinion.

He says that he is struggling with the person he uses as an accountant... Called the accountant and she promised to resolve by the end of last week... Still nothing...
I called SARS and they just said I must wait, there is still time...
They are now not responding to any of my weekly emails anymore...

You can go to the police station and make an affidavit declaring your situation, and just add it in your submission.

That is just not on and then we have no recourse but to wait its really frustrating I wonder how many of us got the same person checking our docs, because some people seemed to have had smooth sailing and some of us nothing but silence.
 
Submitted my return on the 10th and then uploaded supporting docs.

Status was then "correction filed"

My status changed to "Assessment received” today.

Does anyone know what this means?

have you had any further progress
 
Refund cleared in my account this morning.
