SARS E-Filing 2019/20

I have been submitting logbooks for the last three years and have never been selected for an audit - if your assessment states Audit: N, then you are not selected for an audit. This should only change if the details on your return change.

Thanks, that's very interesting. I always assumed that one is selected for verification for anything claimed for that requires additional docs as proof, i.e. travel claims, home office claims etc... At this I don't even have the option to upload supporting docs on the system. So not sure when/how I will be able to upload.

How do you submit your logbooks without being selected for verification or audit? The option for uploading documents usually only appears if you have actually been selected for verification or audit.

Thanks guys for head-up, just filed mine now and all went smooth. Getting a small refund yay. Will post when I get it in my back acccount.

Tried to file and it gives me an error about missing Lump Sum amount not being present even though the directive was issued on my previous Provident Fund. I received the IT3(b) from the company but I still can't file my return or find where to upload the documents I was sent. Anybody else have this? Is this something the Provident Fund company has to re-submit to SARS?

Thanks

I do a logbook, but have never been asked for you. Never been audited for km claim.

If it does not reflect on SARS efilling, the only easy way is to tell PF company to submit it again else you got to do it manually and will take a while to get approved.

1. You upload all details and submit. You will be flag for an audit.
2. After that you upload all supporting documents and wait for a response.

Not sure if it still the same, if am wrong someone can correct me.

Should have said: "doing logbooks" not "submitting". Never been asked for them but do them every year.

OK I will ask them to submit it again hopefully they don't take to long to do so. I can't enter any of the values on that page of the return so not sure I can update it manually. Will check again tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

Wow. The app is really great. I can't believe I've been battling with the browser-based version when apparently this app has been around for 2 years already!

So to be clear, you all haven't received auto assess sms's, you just decided to log in and file like previous years?

Hrm I should try with iPad if it has a larger version. I tried the initial version which wasn’t too great but also I didn’t like the size on device but then i guess device was smaller.. I see there was a major change in 2019 so maybe that’s when it was improved.

Submitted yesterday. Refund due to me. My Statement of Account this morning shows R0, with payment date 29 Aug 2020.
