SARS E-Filing 2019/20

Anyone received an SMS that shows they owe you a few cents then when you go into Efiling and check the calc without changing anything its a different amount - in my case they owe me a couple of thousand.

Ah nevermind, 2 pages back I see. Wonder if its a ploy to stop people putting deductions in.

My SMS said they owe me 18c. I was going to leave things as is and move on.

Let me log on and check

If you pay medical aid out of your own pocket, are you allowed to claim it back and if so, how? I don't see anything on the Sars site that allows this. The medical aid section is prepopulated with my info. It seems I am getting a few bob back for my RA's but a few more for medical aid wouldn't hurt. If it isn't possible, then so be it.

You get a tax credit for being on medical aid .

It is but has to be something stupid like more than 30% of gross but you can still claim. There's a section for medical expenses not covered by you have to say so in one of the earlier questions.

Not true. Read the link I posted above

Yes true, applies over and above the credits. The credits are up front normally but if you have major expenses that exceed x amount of gross, they will be considered.
Which is different to what he asked
