SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

you may need to request it, if you have not already done so.
on the left menu select Returns Issued > Personal Income Tax
then on the right select the year and Request Return.

so i get the following status:
-original assessment - 17h35
-requirement to submit supporting documents - 17h41
-Case status update - receipt of supporting documents - 18h51
-Statement of account: assessed Tax - 19h00

Is the "statement of account assessed tax" meaning they have assessed (as in verified) me already !? or just the tming of the document ... feels too quick

Yes it is assessed, however, any money due to you will only be paid after they have verified the documents, which will can take up to 21 business days.

Submitted supporting documents 1 July
Refund 13 July

Much better than last year and I had added complexity this year of a rental property.
 
Wife submitted and uploaded docs for verification on the 2nd, completed 11th, getting paid tomorrow.
Mine submitted and uploaded docs for verification on the 3rd, no news yet....

How do I upload the proof of bank account (bank statement) on my e-Filing profile?
 
Surprisingly got a call from a consultant at SARS today, had a query on one of my deductions for which I was required to submit supporting documents. Waiting patiently for a complete letter.
 
I completed my return and submitted.
The assessment shows I owe SARS.
I then realized I made a mistake on my return. I actually want to start all over with a new return.
Is there a way to delete the original return and assessment and start all over again?

Under your submitted return, click on request a correction. I had the same problem.
 
Tax penalty evasion question...

My net rental income unexpectedly doubled in 1 year... so it jumped to R33k which means I should have filed provisional tax (>30k).

What is the best way to avoid the 20% penalty?

For the 2020 tax year I have incurred large repair expenses and disposing the property... so I'm no longer a provisional tax payer, but don't think that helps since that's for the next tax year.

I wish they would call me, for any reason... not hearing from them is soooo incredibly frustrating. What on earth is my auditor doing or not doing???
 
Pulled SoA this morning in the hopes that me balance would read R0.00 and indicate a refund date. Very sorry to report that nothing has changed since 2 July, still awaiting an indication that someone has picked up my file and commenced some sort of work on it. Losing more and more hope with each passing day.... Yes I know the 21 day story but if they come back to me on day 21 requesting for more info, I’ll have to wait another 21 days

in the same boat here filed, selected for audit and submitted docs on 01 JUL, my wife and I.... still no coms
 
If I recall correctly, I had to escalate my verification last year. Hope I don't have to go that route again
 
Had the same a few years back... a nightmare, calling in every second day for about two month. That’s the last thing I need this year

They did this to me last year. Few days before 21 days expire, I get questionnaire to complete which then took another 21 days for them to look at.
