SARS E-Filing 2020/21

Did she get that sms before 1 July?
the sms was on 26 June
That an IT34 notice was issued.

Then on 29 June
It stated that it was submitted in error.
They raised an incorrect assessment, based on info they already have.
If happy, must leave. If not, must lodge a submission on efiling

Then literally 5 days later, money from "their" assessment was paid to her.

Unfortunately, it is less than what should get back (with medical aid etc etc)

I was selected for verification/audit. Uploaded my docs from PC. No response for more than a week. Went onto the the mobile App. Before you log in there is a tab which says 'correspondence ' I went and uploaded my documents on there. They sent verification done letter within a few hours and refund due tomorrow. Perhaps, give it a try.
You may be onto something with the mobile app.

Uploaded docs from PC and like you no response. Uploaded another doc via the mobile app and at least got a letter that acknowledged receipt

Resubmitting all docs via the app

Let me give you advice. Open the pdf with ms word. If that works, its nor owner protected (and that isn’t password protected)! I convert all my pdf’s before hand!

Yip, same as me.

But for me, assessment, which they submitted, was correct and I've received the refund.

Well after I submitted supporting docs again via the mobile app I just received a letter saying this. Progress at least...

I did the same (added 2 additional invoices via the mobile app I originally hadn't last night).

It gave me the perception that adding another document causes your case to bubble to the top of the queue. The proof will be in how soon I get the Correction acceptance letter.

How did you guys upload via app. I got to the correspondence page and it shows what I uploaded via pc with no option to add more docs.

After you log in, click the Slider in the top left corner (the 3 horizontal bars)

So sars paid me out, while I had an ongoing dispute, which has now been approved, and they owe me more.
But refund amount shows nothing owing.

Do I need to do something else to get the dispute amount reflecting or paid?

To answer my own question. Nope, don't need to do anything. Was paid midnight last night.

I think SARS is at war with the disability claiming people. Earlier this year they tried to remove the credits for people with disabled dependents. After a huge media backlash they backed down. However now they have thrown me a curve ball. I submitted on the 1st July as usual. As usual I was audited and told to upload my supporting docs which I did. However now they have sent me a rude letter that threatened me with arrest and criminal charges if I failed to upload additional documents. For the first time in years they have asked me for the full medical schedule and receipts. This was never before required, as the medical aid sheet was always sufficient to prove expenses for the child with the disability beyond what they paid for. I do not even have those receipts although as we use a single pharmacy I can get it all if needed I suspect.

Called a tax practitioner family member and they indicated that the medical aid tax form should be sufficient and always has been in the past but she thinks they are now trying to discourage people claiming more by just being difficult as she has also had some crazy audits this year. They are also using it just delay paying stuff out she felt.

Anyways, I will re-submit all my docs, and then try my luck with the call center. Kind of expect this to be a nightmare though now that they have gone down this path. If anyone else claims for the disability section of the tax return I would be interested in your experience. If this is universal and targeting families with disabilities I want to take it further, and make the media aware that SARS is still targeting people like that but now with a new dirty tactic to discourage them from even trying.

I just hate it when employer applies for a directive number get it then pay you lump sum then when they file IRP5 they just forget that they got issued of directive numbers and decide to use your Tax Reference number then eventually causing your return to reject. When asking them to correct it ASAP they start telling you that they are having issues with their Easyfile MXM, I am so dissapointed.

This year was rather painless. Submitted on 28/06, selected for verification (as usual), received my finalisation notice on Wednesday 06/07. According to my statement of account the refund will be paid tomorrow.

Those of you who have submitted additional supporting documents using the mobile app, if you navigate to the SARS website and check the documents that have been uploaded, does it show all the documents or just the ones from your initial upload?

I uploaded too few documents initially, then uploaded more using https://tools.sars.gov.za/soqs?queryType=0&querySet=5&channelId=1&addParams=, but now when I navigate to the SARS website, the list of documents uploaded only reflects the initial set of documents.

Should I re-upload using the mobile app? Will that result in the documents appearing in the list?

I am wondering whether the 2 platforms talk to each other.

Also wondering whether uploading on desktop and mobile thereafter has any impact on further delays for completion.

At this stage i am hesitant to attempt any upload to the MobiApp and will leave mine as is on the desktop platform.

Good luck.
