SARS E-Filing 2020/21

I filed on Tuesday night, tax money came through this morning.

For some stupid reason, it wouldn't generate the electronic forms on Chrome but it worked perfectly fine on Firefox.

Did they ask for photos?
Or any other verification of exclusive work from home space?
Yes on the photos. Employer letter + house plan/layout also. All expenses besides internet and cellphone were accepted. (Both of these I've come to learn are not claimable by salaried employees).

SoA says my refund is tomorrow.

Whoop, my SOA shows payment on the 7th of August.
Me too. Balance is R0 and refunds a nice welcome sum
when did you receive completion letter and when did you file?
Timeline for anyone that cares:
Filed: 02/07/21
Documents for Review (requested): 02/07/21
Documents Submitted: 02/07/2021

*insert some MyBB chatter that App uploads trigger the process quicker*

Additional documents filed: 07/07/21 via App (Consultant at one point said the 21 days starts from the date of the last submission)
Request for Support Documents: 23/07/21 (photos + house layout)
Documents for Review: 23/07/21 (submitted same files for it. Looked like a bug asking for "third time")
Completion: 04 August 2021 with a whopping R20K less.

I suspect by tomorrow, my account will be smiling.

I only claimed internet, and it was approved. The house we are in is part of my wife's job, so no rent on our side.
I submitted invoices for the internet, and letter from employer. Approved.

What expenses were successful?

What expenses were successful?
Only the apportioned expenses. All I will say is: I know I was taking chances with my cellphone and internet being my biggest expenses.

However, there are reasons why I should never have even tried to claim them.

Is security your armed response?
And insurance - household contents or building?

Submitted yesterday.

Claimed out of pocket medical expenses of a whopping R46k (ivf which btw failed), another R10k that was on the medical aid rejections, submitted profits on shares of about R44k, showed a small profit, on rental property and claimed for disability deduction (itr-dd form)

Final assessment shows I'm owed a whopping R36k. I'm flagged for audit but I'm not too worried as I did submit all the docs to support my claim

It was ~R3600 in annual ADT fees, R3000 in alarm installation fees + R7900 Cameras (R6k procurement + consumables + electrician fee).

Insurance is household contents @ R270 pm.

I submitted July 29th.

Usual RA, Medical etc etc
No office space deduction as not worth the headache - work in a dedicated study but can't prove all the nitty gritty needed to go ahead with the home/office deduction.
Made some good returns on my PA during the 2020/21 tax year which really knocked me on the tax front.

Thus far not flagged for an audit but I know it's coming soon - SARS owes me just shy of R25k so let's see how it goes! My tax guy noted that lately SARS has been effecting payments and then reversing them on the same day - they then do a full tax audit on you so let's wait n see.

Yip. Happened to me. The reversal was instantaneous. Pulled a statement of account 5 minutes after submitting my return and the reversal reflected on it.

At the same time ? Or did they only notify you after 1 was completed ?
No I was audited for 2021...received completion without changes and was due to be paid out (they did a reversal) when they requested 2021 and 2020 Docs.. I supplied all and received completion with no changes again...but refund status still shows no refund due, even though SOA shows refund due.
