Haven't personally experienced the "chase" from SARS but it is silly to think that anyone bothers about public goodwill. If they do the job, that would be good enough for me.The smell of desperation is overwhelming...

Breaking public goodwill: SARS chases the cents from ordinary taxpayers while high fliers remain footloose
%%excerpt%% A late-night e-mail showed how a tax verification by SARS, despite an already paid refund, remains ongoing.www.dailymaverick.co.za

It means the tax collector fritters away public trust — and public goodwill.
I received a notification saying "INCOME TAX VERIFICATION FINALISE - FINALISED WITHOUT CHANGES". I'm assuming this means my audit has been completed and they're happy with my submissions?
If so, how long until the refund is processed?
Thanks. No such joy on mine as yet. I guess I'll wait another day or two.Download a statement of account
Due date top right!

similar to the BS they tried to pull on me..... crypto profits not declared - all sorted now at leastSo.....after waiting for 3 month, i get the following email:
This is the result of certain declarations that were made which appear not to be correct or in agreement with other data which SARS has
in its possession.
You are requested to urgently correct any errors by submitting a revised declaration at your nearest SARS branch or correcting the
return online if you are an eFiler. Click the Request Correction button after opening the relevant return on efiling.
If you believe the declaration to be correct, please submit to SARS A4 copies of the relevant material in support of the following
declarations:
- Employment contract or letter from Employer confirming the use of home office (stating why the taxpayer is required to perform work
from home as well as whether an office is provided at the employer's premises).
- Schedule of the Home office expenses incurred for the tax period
- Square meters of home office area as well as the total home area square meters and (including) outbuildings.
- Provide at least 1 utility bill that indicates the physical address of the home in the event a physical inspection is deemed necessary.
- Utility bills in the name of the Taxpayer/Business showing the physical address/Affidavit if property is not owned by the taxpayer
in the event that a physical inspection is deemed necessary
All those documents already been submitted to them.
so i am not too sure what to do now....
I can double check everything, but it does look correct.
I don't suppose resubmitting already submitted documents will make any difference....

About the same as my wife. At first she though it was complete and had the calculated refund amount. After finally getting hold of an actual person (hold hold then cut off) she was told that that have not finished her verification yetI'm a week away from waiting 4 months since submitting for FY21 in Nov 2021...
(so much for 21 'wekking' days)
