SARS eFiling 2022/2023

Since when can you claim for internet? The last two years with WFM they didn't want to accept my internet.
I used it as an example.

I have a normal job and I do loads of trading separately disclosed income on my taxable income.

My expenses that I deduct sit under my trading.

Weird got a letter saying they need to verify the info.

But the SOA and IT34 says not selected for audit or verification lol

I can see mine on the app as well. I just had to add my OUTA donations. Not sure of the effect, but I figured its worth it even if it giver me R10 more.

Just need to get my discovery docs to validate the auto populated data before I submit.

I know I'm late to the party, but SARS' 2022 clarification that disallows the claiming of home bond interest for the home office sucks.

I didn't know about this. My claim drops significantly with the bond interest out of the equation. Wondering if it's even worth the effort of claiming WFH now :confused:

It sucks. I'm still going to give it a go, though. It is a lot of effort, IMO, which is why I didn't want to in the first place.

I read somewhere that the particular interpretive note is being challenged by the regulator (or something). Let's hope it gets clarified in our favour.

Just wait till thye ask for a 360 degree photo of your home office. Not even a used condom can be seen else they will deny your claim.

Aye, that's what I'm struggling with. It was worth the effort to get the larger amount. Now that it's 25% of what I got last year, I think I'm going to skip it. Each year it's been a fight and has delayed the payout, so the options are get the rest of the money quicker, or fight for the full amount. SARS is successful in dissuading me from claiming all that I can.
