I'm going put myself out there and say that the No vote will be in the region of between 55-60%. I don't really believe the vote is nearly as close as the pollsters are saying.

Just have a feeling that many people are saying 'Yes' to the pollsters for fear of reprisals but will actually vote 'No'...

The only violence or intimidation I've heard of at all and can verify is a friends friend on Facebook whose brother was attacked by 'two posh No voters' leaving a Yes rally at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh at the weekend.

Spot on. Why would someone be indecisive? Because of the unknown of course.

And the No campaign have focused on this unknown and have obviously been very successful with the scare stories evidenced by such a large number of 'don't knows'.

The only violence or intimidation I've heard of at all and can verify is a friends friend on Facebook whose brother was attacked by 'two posh No voters' leaving a Yes rally at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh at the weekend.

Yeah, see my previous post this morning. Hearts fans have had a reputation as nutters since I was a lad and this doesn't surprise me at all. It's a minority who would do it but it was pretty obvious they would have a tough time even just handing out flyers.

The biggest group to vote No is the over 65s...(69% v 31% I've heard). They're are also statistically the most likely to vote (although I've heard huge turnout estimates of between 80-85%, which might mitigate their influence somewhat) and least likely to be on any form of social media.

Hundreds of campaign boards have been daubed with offensive graffiti or destroyed;
Homes with ‘No Thanks’ posters have been pelted with eggs and one householder in Edinburgh had ‘coward’ etched into his front door;
Farmers have received anonymous phone calls saying their livestock will be set loose unless they take down campaign boards
Nationalists have bragged on Facebook about ripping down No signs and posted videos of them stamping on the posters
Pro-union canvassers been called ‘loyalist scum’ and ordered to hand over details of supporters so their ‘houses can be burned down’.

I'm not surprised, Scotland seems to have more than it's fair share of idiots and these muppets must be condemned of course. But as I've said, the campaign seems to have been largely peaceful and thoughtful no matter what the gutter press want you to believe.
