There is no excuse for this behaviour, especially as it's a democratic process. But it confirms that there are arseholes everywhere

of course, but it can also be stressful for the people fighting for their freedom. For some people this is the closest they've ever gotten an something they've looked forward to their entire lives, and now it's in the hands of other people. if it was an overwhelming majority it would be a different story, but the figures are close, the country is really torn about it

While I have no doubt there has been a some bullying tactics, raised emotions and the occasional bit of violence, just be aware it is happening is happening on both sides but you of course read what the pro unionist press want you to read.

I disagree, I'm not sure why you would think that? What it is, is incredibly relevant to a lot of Scots just now with the tales of doom and gloom being thrown at them from all angles.

It's co-opting Mandela to this cause, which he had nothing to do with and which that quote isn't specifically about.

In a broad view the quote could well be relevant to many Scots, but to use his face and the quote like that... just tacky.

There's no shortage of fearmongering from the pro-union side. That would include trying to paint the independence side as a bunch of thugs.

Especially as he has passed on and he cannot gainsay the message if he didn't agree with it. Mandela was associated with a cause of clear injustice and repression, the case for Scottish independence is nothing like the cause that Mandela fought for.

Sorry, to me it is merely some inspiring and relevent words from a man who the world respected through his commitment to peaceful change. I don't think anyone would think Mandela was in any way, shape or form referring to Scotland (not least because he's of course dead).

It's a Yes campaign poster. I think the Yes logo would be expected :p

I meant he never uttered the words specifically about Scotland. They are relevant of course, but not specific. But then i think you knew that ;)

Great, since you are so tuned in to what's happening there you should show the pics of the no voters bulling the yes voters like Chris is doing. Based on your opinion, sounds like you have many examples of no voters bullying the yes voters

Not like the Lions are that strong anyway :twisted:. I heard that if the Scots vote for independence the name will change from the British and Irish Lions to just "The Lions" - the assumption being that they would still take part in Lions tours.
