Interesting that the big cities seem to be Yes-dominated, whereas country people prefer to be run by foreigners, by a very small margin. One would have thought it would be the other way round. Perhaps it's all those CAP subsidies from the EC?

Edinburgh and Aberdeen will vote No. Rumour has No at 60% in Edinburgh.

Bah - it was an idle thought earlier when Aberdeen (east) and Edinburgh (east) were predicted as Nays, and some were predicting Glasgow (west) could be Aye. Silly notion. :D

:p

At this point in time, could you really label the English as foreigners from a Scottish, Welsh and Cornish perspective? How many hundreds of years now? Could it simply be that these people identify as British before picking a nationality?

Don't take that comment as deep analysis. It's partisan banter during a vote, which is all in a spirit of fun. I really don't know enough about the situation on the ground to make profound comments. :D

Fair enough. I recall when I was over there a bunch of Scots saying that they were proud Brits until it came to rugby. Sadly for them they are now the eternal whipping boys.
