Screamer ADSL

hmm, my connection seems to be a lot better now, torrents are going at 25kB+ and browsing seems fine, have not checked latency as yet...
 
Tomorrow is the day i cancel my account and go back to DC. they have better customer service and their torrents go at like 20kb which is double what i am currently getting. the service from howzit and screamer is pathetic to say the least. the call centre doesn't take calls after 7 it seems.
The website was never secure
Spoke to Neil the advanced technician today, genius he is told me it's my telkom line, yet Afrihost flies... so how can it be my line?
I expect a full refund

I will get 13GB of data with afrihost @ r29 per gb. and if they have the 29 for 2gb special again. i get way more at a CONSTANT 40-55kb... and perfect service.

howzit answered my concerns with a "I'll check on it"

Gotta love it. I complain on the forum, I send a PM to Howzit last night, my response this morning... "I will get someone to call you"... guess what I am still waiting and I literally cant even surf... nice one screamer... or should I call you crawler... this BS... this is not what I paid for!!!! I recommend you fix your house before you sign up more users... end of f*%% story.. Sort out existing clients before you take on new ones... who will suffer the same fate and as a result you will loose not only your existing clients but new ones as well... marketing 101.. use don't use, all I care is about account!!! fix my freakin account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't pay R399 for a 56k line!!

I am relatively a placid person I will give people and other companies a chance since I own my own... but 2 weeks... it getting a bit much and then when I complain about my speed all I get is, "I will get someone to call you" like thats going to fix things.. which nothing happes anyway, in fact its worse than yesterday.. check out my speedtest its a freaking joke http://www.speedtest.net/result/705755956.png.

I like to think I am a fair guy, give me good service and I will rant and rave and recommend people, treat me like dirt expect the same in return....
 
overall the service has been pretty ****...howzit has told me that he will get someone to contact me but I never heard from anyone..
BUT i sent him a PM yesterday evening because my status said expired. Got a call from John this afternoon telling me that he has sorted the problem and everything should be fine now. this is only time that I have heard from screamer...
i have sent emails to screamer and written a letter to head office but haven't received a reply...seems to me that they respond to the minor bugs but avoid the major issues.
Screamer you really need to sort your customer services and keep us up to date with what's happening!
 
my connection has been slowly dying over the last hour.
it really is getting a bit frustrating - however Howzit has indicated that they are running upgrades and this will be resolved latest end tomorrow.

therefore will hang tight for now. may buy a gig or 2 from Afrihost to tide me over especially if the special is on.

I've heard that so many times. Everything is "tomorrow" or "next week".

When are people going to stop believing it? Or better yet, when are Screamer going to keep their promises?
 
Slight better this morning then yesterday but still waiting considerable amounts of time to load even the most basic of web pages...
 
I paid these guys last week and was expecting a username within 2 days.

I phoned them this morning and they told me they're system was down, and would be up in "errr 3-4 days, or about a week, ahem".

@Howzit, how are the upgrades going, and any further news on the public IP's?

Another thing, my mails are not being delivered to my recipients again. This is a BIG problem and must be sorted out!

Can anyone post some speeds using astraweb on their 384kbps account. Pref on a 4mb link.

Why is it that whenever your SAOL clients start having a problem with SAOL, (currently it is your archaic T&C's which restrict your clients from living, and the sudden increase of your 384 uncapped package to R699) you think that by trolling the Screamer thread you can divert attention.
I will NEVER use SAOL's service because it is restrictive, archaic and expensive so live with it.

On a brighter point my 384 Screamer connection is once agains SCREAMING.

What are your guys speed like with news servers. I am only getting 20Kb/s downloads. Is this the same across the board or is it just my connection?
 
been getting +- 30KB/s

Before the new month I was getting 42Kb/s. So something is definitely up.
I know they busy upgrading but this is starting to get ridiculous. For the entire week now almost no connectivity....

Now down to 15KB/s after rebooting the router..... What are these guys up to?

by tonight they should have completed their upgrades. so not too worried about the lower speeds now.
