Screamer ADSL

Going to send the cancellation request now. Just got feedback from SAINET who seem to be good at answering emails at least!!! Unlike Screamer.

I'm out.

I cancelled on Monday. On Afrihost until I can get onto SAOL (check hellopeter for complains about SAOL, compared to screamer). I'd rather pay R700 (including line rental) for something that works!:mad:

Still cant connect to screamer, also couldn't log onto usage and screamer hasn't debited my account yet, so here's hoping that my cancellation email was successful and I was freed from their hellish realm. Pleeeeeeeeease let it be so
I got a reply saying that they will cancel asap. Which I really hope for. On SAOL from next month. and I don't think I'll look back!
 
Yup got my Screamer yesterday and just cancelled it. Very poor connection speeds, high ping, no customer support.:mad: No response to my last 4 emails.

Good thing i have not been billed yet.

Any other companies offering uncapped 384k i can look at?

SAINET. R449 per month for data only. Not to sure what that means but i got a reply from them today with the application form. As soon as the cancellation email from Screamer arrives, i will sign it up. They wll give me my username and password before pm that day.
 
What did you guys put in your cancellation email, i basically just put in my username, gave them my ID# and politely asked them to put me out of my misery. I didn't get a reply yet but haven't been debited either.
 
I basically just told them in my cancellation email that the connection was inconsistent and that i received no customer support from them.

Just got their response from their cancellation department.

'Herewith the confirmation that we have received your request for cancellation. It will be processed ASAP. '

'Screamer aims to consistently deliver a professional and reliable service to our customers and we are actively working to rectify technical difficulties and improve service levels.
Once these are resolved, we would like the opportunity to regain your confidence in our company, therefore kindly reply to this email to confirm whether or not you may reconsider using Screamer ADSL Services in the future.'

but ill be looking elsewhere, as patient as we South Africans are when it comes to isp services, i will not put up with poor customer service. Which Screamer has in abundance unfortunately.

I was not debited either but will make sure again on monday that i am not charged. If you are debited, just make sure to save your cancellation email as proof and go to the bank to reverse the debit. Checked with ABSA this morning and they are able to do that as long as you have the email as proof of cancellation.
 
My Screamer account is now totally dead. I cannot download, chat or even browse anything at all... Can a techi please pm me for assistance or ile have to follow the others and cancel.

That's because it is dead. Everything. Not 1kb going in or out... i want my damn cancellation email NOW.

my downloading still seems to be slower than usual... can anyone from screamer please let us know what you guys are doing??

the thing is i can't open the link they gave me. everytime i try to use it my browser tells me i can't visit the page. i noticed that they used a different email address to send me the email. it is [email protected]
i tried to reply to it to tell them that the link does not work and I got an instant reply telling me the email address does not exist!
WTF is going on here???

Hmm mine seems to be behaving today... getting consistent speed and I am able to browse while downloading... clearly so many people canceled that it can cope slightly better... still can only have 1 active download at a time though... give it more and screamer gets confukulated.

At looney call their support line, they open till 10pm... demand speaking to a supervisor.

Would someone at screamer clarify the issue with torrent and browsing at the same time please?

Well

1. You can't use utorrent (Although i haven't tried again in awhile)
2. You can only download 1 torrent at a time whilst nothing else is happening. No browsing included.
 
last year November i signed up for what i thought was the best thing ever, uncapped account for R400 pm, i was so excited, so happy, like a boy a day before Christmas, i could not wait, downloading any torrent my heart desire, no worry about caps, and all was good with the world, i called Axxess who i have been with for 4 - 5 years, i canceled my account with a grin on my face, for the same amount i payed them i could get uncapped ADSL, the lady calmly told me its fine and no worries, my account will be canceled, i called Screamer, they emailed me my account, i entered my user name and password in my router, rolling my thumbs in excitement, ready to type in pirate-bay.....but wait, what is going on, why is it so slow, 2 minutes to open a site??? :confused::confused::confused: and it started, what might be the slowest internet in the world, at first i thought it might be my router settings or maybe something on my network card, but being in IT myself i did all the test with different routers, different operating system, different network cards, all as dreadful as the firsts, i even went to one of my friend with a 4mb line to test it for me, i have had better connection with my 56k modem, here i had a uncapped account that cant browse any websites and downloading torrents is a myth, i called and emailed screamer probably 50 times, each time full of promises and excuses, its been almost 5 months now, and still i am getting pathetic speeds, each month i have to buy prepaid axxess gbs because my currant ISP cant deliver, i pay R400 pm for what????? for what?????? please explain to me for what?, you cant call it uncapped because its almost impossible to download anything, its a merical if you get past 5gb a month, there is not a day that passes that the account is not of or not working for some time, not a day, i normally give a company the benefit of the doubt, i gave them a chance to find there feet, but in 5 months i have received no joy, :mad: , and the best is you still take new members but you cant even provide a half descent service to the one's you do have, i am going back to axxess, i might only get 6gb's per month, but at least its smooth browsing, no time outs, and i can use my full 6gbs with a smile on my face knowing when i get home it will work, thanks for wasting my time and money screamer :cry: :(:mad::eek:

Ok, got my cancellation confirmation, was sent to wrong email a few days back. Anyway can anyone confirm that i will not be debited for this month and that the cancellation took immediate effect.
Would like to spend my screamer quota somewhere else.

Please PM me your username so I can attend to your individual problems. I do have 5 min once in a while. I don't want to promise anything but we are spending 12-16 hour days to make it better for everyone.
