Should I get a Polo?

The dealership ended up selling the Fit to someone else before I could grab it. Sucks a bit as I told them I wanted it but so it goes. I'll just have to wait a bit more.
Try the honda dealership at canal walk. Speak to Kurt or Brad at Honda Claremont. What about a maxda cx3?

Nobody has old enough used Fits as they're a very new model, which means they're all too expensive at the moment. There are a few excpetions but still quite expensive, I'm going to just wait a bit and see if anything else gets listed.

I'm looking for a small hatchback, the CX3 is too big.

Might have found the "one" (Honda Fit).

Blown my initial budget to hell and gone but it's the top-specced Executive model and the dealer agreed to a discount on the terms that I do the finance through them (which is fine as long as the rate is decent).

Just getting all the details.
Saleman did his job. Well done to him.

really nice speeced 208!

Drove one of these for a week in the UK last month. Nice enough car. Better than a Polo. But it is small inside. You feel like you’re in a go cart.

The one I drove also had active cruise control. That was very nice.

Most annoying thing was the stop start. But you could turn it off.

So eh the hunt continues bud?

Did you consider a Fit from upcountry? There are some lekker potentials for a deal + you drive the car back down & “bond” with it.

They should disabled this crap, I do my enjoy my 308 does not have that and you can start the car without having to press in the clutch :P

My S4 has it and it’s a lot less annoying. I don’t mind it. In the 208. It’s bloody annoying because it turns off a lot more and sometimes when you don’t want it to. Like slowing right down for a yield where you stop for just a second. Bloody annoying.

Took a Fit for a test drive earlier, OTP signed and we're moving on to the finance applications.

It's the same executive model I took a look at about 2 weeks ago but found out my license had expired and couldn't test drive it. Happy that happened as today when I got there it was on promo down from R339k to R325k.

Still more than I initially wanted to spend but it's almost new (15k on the clock) and nothing else in the segment worked for me.

Sounds like a good deal but just thought I'd mention that you should consider CMH Honda. Their dealerships are doing R80k cashback on the Fit Elegance which makes it R320k, brand new.

Pretty set on the Executive, and would prefer dealing local (no CMH here in Cape Town).

Thanks for the heads up though.

Congrats! How’d the interest rate issue go?
I got prime - 0.75, so 11% at the moment.

Their (Webank) initial offer was 12.75, then when I told the dealership I was submitting applications to other banks they got it reduced to prime, then Absa got back to me with the 11% and Wesbank matched it as they obviously don't want to lose their piece of the pie.

And paying R8 a liter less via ebucks (its a bargain)
