Should I pay my E-Toll account?

This whole thing is as irritating as the FNB Steve ads, the ads still top it though. Received my first bill now. I think this is a loosing battle, one my wallet is not thick enough to fight. Time to bend over...

How do you get to that conclusion? I have the bill already, so surely I will get another, and another etc. MIGHT not have to pay it now, but I reckon you will HAVE to pay it sometime. So its postponing the inevitable. I can fit the bill now, but 6 months of bills would get me in a fair amount of trouble

Not only that, but the amount you need to pay keeps increasing, so in 6 months you may owe thousands, if not tens of thousands of rands, depending on how much you use the roads.

Now on the anti-House side of things, yeah go ahead and register, get a tag...... ( yeah I am kidding) look at the hellopeter reports, when getting tagged you are locked into their T's and C's which basically are a pay first, fight later scenario, and see the number of balls ups they are making with people's accounts DAILY. You will most likely not be able to top up your prepaid account (probably trying to angle for free access to your bank account), not get charged at the discounted rates (you don't just have to have a tag, but also register, merely having a tag does not = discounts) and well go have a good laugh at their incompetence while you are there

Please do not get me wrong, but nowhere have I ever said people should register.

I did, however, recommend that a person who travel on these roads on a daily basis should rather bend over and register. Financial sense dictate this, as a daily usage bill may exceed R5k per month, while registered users have a R450 cap.

I myself am not using the roads on a daily basis. I am not registered. I do, however, when I use the roads log into Sanral and pay my fees. Mainly because I travel so little on these roads.

Those who think they will use the roads without paying is making the biggest mistake of their lives, and more so those who think the e-Toll system will collapse.

Sanral is playing within their legal rights, opposed to what all people, DA, Outa and JPSA said. If you do not pay, you will be bothered by debt collectors at work and home and one day, out of the blue, the Sheriff will serve you with a court order to appear in court. The day this happens, you cannot pay anything anymore. You will need to go to court and face criminal charges. If you want to pay then, you will get additional fines by the court and a criminal record.

You have the mentality that makes me want to stuff my non existent etoll invoices down your proverbial pie hole and set it alight and pee down it afterwards for good measure, I am sure there are other members who would gladly take your eyes out shove it up your butt, for a shyte outlook for the rest of your life.

But your righteous attitude tells me that is exactly some thing you would enjoy....what comes around goes around ;)

I guess I'm getting a criminal record then. Boohoo. Live only once anyway.

I'd do far worse criminal activities, to better this country, given the opportunity mind you. :p

Also you have to ask yourself who is the real criminal here? Despite whatever makes "the most financial sense" for the individual. Which actually it doesn't...because you will pay more in food and taxes with your attitude.
