oh man!!! so we have to wait yet another day? cant take this anymore. I want this done and over with![]()
Yea - it will be more than a day.
I had a chat to our new 'neutral' HR lady that started a few weeks back. I'm her first case that she'll be dealing with and called me in this morning to understand the issues. She's taking the typical HR stand of assisting the employee. Regardless, there's two things she said that I'm curious on :
1. Length of time before appealing. Our Disciplinary Code is silent on the time frame after which an appeal can be lodged. I'm lodging the first (verbal) warning after a month. Is that too long? Does it default to a certain time frame if our internal code is silent?
2. I brought up the fact that I was told to 'sign' and not given a fair opportunity to state my case before the warning was issued, as I've seen on various sites. Her reply was they don't have to give me an opportunity (?) unless it's a final. When I proceeded to go to www.labourguide.co.za, I was told 'one can't simply Google these things'.
Isn't that an official site?
Just found out she's big buddies with said GM :wtf:
Oh well - let's see what happens
Ours was two weeks.Does anyone know if there is a prescribed time in which to appeal an warning?
Our internal Disciplinary Code is silent on the matter and they revert to 5 days
It's a bloody mess. You will keep your job but will have no prospects further in the company.
Yeah but I'm sure the OP is trying to prove a point and then move on at a later stage under his own terms.
