Hi guys has there been any firmware updates to the box to fix Netflix?
I see the Telkom LIT owners posting about a latest update fixing Netflix.

Currently there is no "fix" - it simply that the box is not Netflix approved and wont be for a while.

Telkom getting their certification shortly if not already done.

Without approval from Netflix you have to side-load the app.

Mi TV might be on an early bird deal tomorrow for R1099, possibly R999.

sure thing, just a bit undecided on the 3 boxes that are readily available here, the Xiaomi, LIT and Binge...

I would rate the Mi Box first, then the Skyworth box, then the LIT box, of which I have 2.

did you get the 5.1 pass through working on the skyworth box?

How did you get it to work?

I plugged my fiber optic cable from my dvd player to my skyworth box, then I went to settings on the skyworth box and changed the sound to "SPDIF RAW".

After that you need to install the following codec apk for mx player.

Then Install the mx player, I tested this with cyberflix Apk and I have got the RD service linked on this Apk. So when I stream x264 5.1 channel it plays with HW decoder and when I stream x265 5.1 channel it plays with HW+ decoder.

I still cant get VLC to stream 5.1 so I only use mx player. not sure how to get VLC to work as I cannot get any codec packs for VLC.

Depends on your use case, but basically the price and the fact that it's running Android TV.

No Netflix is a deal breaker for most though.

You mean the dodgy ones that will probably only last 3 months until you have to find another one and are run from various cheap file hosting websites that have extremely limited bandwidth which cause people to complain to their ISPs? Or are you referring to something else?
