I have not, these are 3rd party codecs for a specific media player and if they do somehow cause passthrough to start working then there is something very wrong with the box as this isn't a reliable solution to the problem and it should be fixed on the box itself.

Mixed, I use Plex along with other streaming services (mainly Netflix - another reason this box isn't much use to me) and Youtube.

I see where you coming from , but thats how I got mine fixed , also my dstv now app play correctly through my surround sound with no audio issues

makes more sense as you going the legal way of things from what I see
 
My box is getting delivered today. Can't wait to get set up. Not really worried about Netflix. New to this but would like to know how to load cyberflix/showbox or popcorn time?

Could be a hardware issue, not communicating with the OS? Weirdest thing though is that when I go to settings i can see the IP it gets via dhcp. So it's connected but fails to recognize that there is an internet connection.

I am having the same issue but on my Android TV. Exactly the same symptoms tho.

Issue got solved with the firmware update the skyworth box received. I tried all the other fixes i found online like static IPs etc. Didn't work. Firmware update fixed the issue.
 
Will skybox ever get an"official" netflix?I bought one which I will open next week..I need it for dstv now and netflix..although I can play netflix through ps4

According to the Skyworth Rep here on the forum they are just waiting for Netflix and they know it is critical to their success. I personally are happy with DSTV, Showmax and Cyberflix oh yeah and your profilename :-)
