Works fine over here, except for the UI being a bit laggy which seems similar to the Leap S1/android version of the app. Can't get 4k to show up though...

I've noticed the Skyworth Leap S1 can't seem to stream the DSTV/Showmax 4k streams. It seems to lag quite a bit and isn't smooth. The response I got from DSTV is basically page showing supported devices. They don't care
Also, can we expect any software updates anytime soon?

On my side the streaming are fine
Even the 4K ones? For me, as soon as I choose 4K the video is not smooth.
It’s specific to DSTV and Showmax when watching the World Cup games. Everything else in 4K like Netflix works fine

Remember, not all titles support 4K. So it could be that the highest might be 1080p. Although, could also be related to the older Skyworth streaming box, so I wouldn't rule that out entirely
@JOEY_8 , I leave all my D+ content on the "Auto" setting and found that it plays everything that does support 4K, in 4K.
One thing that I have noticed with D+ titles is that it automatically selects the 5.1 audio track each time for basically anything. Someone like me without a 5.1 system have to go and select the normal 2.1 option for a decent volume boost

Yes noticed a relative's Leap S1 box playing 4k content recently . It could've been my box or how the app behaved at the time.Remember, not all titles support 4K. Need some support please
Following setup - Disney Plus installed on Skyworth Leap 1 connected to Hisense TV U7H
The video is playing but you can only hear the sound and the screen is black
All other apps - netflix/amazon prime/showmax/DSTV etc. work fine with this setup
I even connected the same TV box to other Full HD TVs and everything works fine including disney plus
I am suspecting its and SDR/HDR issue after googling but cannot find an option to change the setting to test
Any ideas or similar experiences?

It lags really badly on DSTV now 4K channel.
When it was allowed on kodi the dstv 4k was working perfectly. I tested on multiple skyworth leap s1 boxes because family members have the same box as I recommend it and all of the lag heavily on the 4K DSTV channel.
Other 4k like plex or kodi plays perfectly. It's like the box is limiting resources to the dstv now app that causes it to lag.

Doudt the box is to blame, DSTV on the other hand ....
They have a stash of very crappy Streama boxes to sell.
I'm not so sure hey. I think it might be the app for sure but 4k on it is completely unwatchable on the Skyworth Leap S1. Very disappointing.
I agree. I emailed Skyworth Support about this and they said they will look into it.
I think I should do the same. After I made everyone get it and now more people wanting these boxes not sure if I should recommend it knowing that the dstv now 4k doesn't work on it.
So after testing, the issue is the Skyworth TV box as Xiaomi S box worked first time and auto selects resoltuion with TV
On the Skyworth Leap S1 TV box, the display option does NOT have the "HDR to SDR" option compared to Xiaomi MI box S
Can i kindly request the support email address for Skyworth? I have tried logging the ticket but it is not recognising the serial number on the box as valid although it was purchased from Takealot

I have bought ones in the past without success and a replacement remote. Noticed the Skyworth have not been here for nearly a year on the forums :-(
