Afrihost Business Uncapped - never been happier - everything just works several magnitudes better than MWeb ever could offer (and this just on a 4mbps ADSL line)

Content with Telkom for now.
Naspers will never see a cent of my money![]()
I have to admit I was wrong.
I traded a short term gain for a long term loss.
I can live with the softcap. I cannot, however live with the crap connection provided by OpenWeb where I can't even use GMail properly.
My original argument with MWEB was the softcap, however I would rather have a stable connection and watch my usage, than have a mediocre connection because Internet Solutions is a crap ISP!
Yes I do... I am well aware of that. You do know that Internet Solutions is just a backbone provider and the ISPs can create their own accounts with different shaping profiles right?
How is it a fail if, to this day, I have never had an issue with them? Every time my ADSL has been offline it has been a regional Telkom issue, I've never been shaped, I've never been throttled, I get 106 KB/s on a 1 Mbps account.
Im reading lots of posts of people that had jumped ship after the MWEB saga, are now going back to MWEB after trying a number of other ISP's
After all the anger, all the flaming and signature changes to "click here to cancel MWEB" I find this quite amusing.
So who is man enough to own up to going back to MWEB?

There are more options than just OW and MWEB. I'm with AH and couldn't be happier. Currently do about 400Gb a month and not a moment's worry about being throttled to 56k.My choice of ISP has nothing to do with backbone or lack thereof.
MWEB's policies are questionable, no need to repeat that ad-nauseum.
This is about having a workable, stable internet connection. When I was with MWEB, this is what I got, an internet connection that gave me ZERO issues, not even packet loss. With OpenWeb, I am throttled, even outside of throttling hours, and they do all kinds of funny things, they are doing either some kind of filtering, or packet prioritisation that causes adding attachments to GMail to fail, and I am all of a sudden getting complaints from the other family members that Facebook and Youtube is up to crap.
If they want to soft-cap, that's OK, they are entitled to do it. If it means I get back to be able to doing mission-critical stuff from home, then so be it, I'll live with the softcap, it's not going to KILL ME!

Let's see...
Axxess... shapes torrents
Afrihost... too many bad reports, the hatred is much higher than for other ISPs excluding MWEB
Telkom... not an option.. have client who has them and I am sick and tired of going there to "fix" the ADSL i.e. me phoning them and crapping them out from a dizzy height.
Cybersmart... what a joke. So bad even my old fossilized parents complain.
