You mention you talked to Eugene on Wednesday you however fail to mention what it is you talked about.
Eugene told me the talk was about how your bike is taking 10 minutes to start, lack of power and feels like no compression also that there is an oil leak from your head.
You previous service was with us over a year ago and the only reason you now wanted a service was because your bike was not going properly.
Because you could not get the problem looked at this week Eugene gave you a free spark plug as it was one of our Chinese (not the NGK we use for the services) just to try to see if it may help as you could only bring the bike into our shop the following week. This was told to you.
Also we did not change the spark plug you did!
That spark plug was a short one and you fitted it anyways and then drove with it for a few days afterwards, the reason the plug helped was because your valves where leaking and hence your old plug was very dirty so a new plug will help the situation but only for a short term as it will get full of “gunk”.
When we serviced the bike we took out the plug you fitted and saw you had stripped the last 2 rings, so the new NGK spark plug could not be fitted you arrived at the shop just as I had phoned the thread guy, I told you that as you walked in and said they normally take 30mins to 1 hour to arrive and cost about R150. (ended up cheaper)
You where having starting problems before you came to us, once you put in a new plug it helped for awhile that does not solve the problem.
A service does not cover the costs of cleaning valves.
When someone books in a service it does not mean we fix all there problems(new panels etc), a service is just that a service.
I have said to you to take your bike to a qualified mechanic and get there opinion on whether the valves where all cleaned, you have had the bike for around 8 years I can guarantee you that he will see that those are not 8 year old dirty valves and that we have done the job.
The Bike was running perfectly when it was delivered it will defiantly be going worse now as we need to set the tappets about 2 days after that job is done, however I received a lawyers call the very morning after the bike was dropped off and you where not answering my telephone calls.
Our last conversation we agreed upon R600 for the job and that I will phone you in the morning to see if you where happy with the job. (still do not understand why I then had the lawyers call first thing in the morning and you where not answering my calls, as at that stage you bike was running great)
Funny how the lawyer (your daughter) said you had not mentioned paying R600 and that I was lying.
You where well a where of the costs as you paid for an invoice the day before that invoice clearly has the R200 for 1 hour labour charge on it and I even went through it with you when you paid
When I phoned you and and asked must I go ahead with the job we even spoke about how many hours it could take (Hence you agreed to pay the R600 as you said I only said 3 hours), .
So now you do not want to pay me anything for the job done. a job stated in your message needs to done “the oil leak was discused with eugene and yourself and i asked if you could look at it see if it can be sorted just so i can use the bike for work till it can be sorted during the holidays”
You where a where the job needed to be done, now you do not want to pay for it.
My word still stands and you can bring the R600 we agreed upon in and we will happily set the tappets for you, otherwise you force me to go to court as this is now more a matter of principal for me than anything else
