Hi guys, I opened a Capitec account through the app, did an EFT (not instant) with FNB to Capitec for R100 just to test and even though I can see the balance in as R100 under transactions the account avail balance is at R75. Anyone know why?

I think they charge a small activation fee.

Think it’s the min account balance, so the available balance is R75.

You need to have R25 in your account to cover the monthly fee etc.

I have Tymebank Goalsaves set up, but now I'm looking for something simple into which my salary gets paid, it generates interest, and I can transact any time I want without notice or penalty. Been looking at Capitec Global One account because I am also travelling to Turkey coincidentally enough. The international tx fees are minimal which is great. But the savings interest rates not so much. Thoughts?

FNB Easy Account with linked savings pocket

I have both, use the latter as my primary

i get a 5% discount on my sons high school fees with Capitec, after the highschool sent me a mail about it, Capitec called and asked if i would like it activated, i didnt do anything i said please proceed, boom, the saving there is more than my monthly banking fees with Capitec, you get some cash back when shopping at certain shops also, Dischem is one of them
