ok so i been browsing for other isp's this month (between driving all over the place with my sister visiting from the states and undergoing medical treatment)

but this is what is seriously starting to piss me off now... since when does openweb decide which pages you can view and which not ? happened to me quite a few times now i got this "prohibited by proxy" bs. even if my browser is not set to use openrouter ;/ i mean i have my 3gig international cap (supposed to have it...) and no openweb decides for me which pages i can access and which not ? ;/ wth... i am so glad i am on the way out of the most childish and useless ISP in sa ;/ seriously. i think openweb should state on their website with their packages they will decide which webpages you will access and which not. seeing as they started doing that to me now recently... i wish i could meet Keoma face to face... just once...

and what exactly can you do to him? I have had nothing but fantastic service from them so I refuse to bad mouth them

+1

Ryzzhan, instead of coming to bad mouth OW here again (You have done it before in the past as well: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=179076 , http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=181283) get yourself a pepsi and chill the *&^% out. And while you're busy with the pepsi, brush up on your writing skills and proper grammar. Have you ever heard of capital letters ?

+1 for fantastic service. Havent had any problems with openweb. Using them for a few years now.

you may have reason to be pissed off, but your implicit desire to cause harm on the guy for that wont invoke any kind of progress. He's offering a service: if you don't like it, try negociate; if that fails, try find another... if you can't, then realize what you've lost: the service that closest matched your needs -- and that you had intentions of paralyzing the guy who was making that service available

works fine for me. I can open any web page with OpenWeb. I think you has sumpin wrong with your 'puter! :D

Have you actually tried to contact them to talk to them about this?

ah ok.. so your one of the 1% in SA who are happy with openweb and all of sudden you think they do nothing wrong. in the forums he is all polite etc. and in email he gets very cocky and acts like his company is blameless in everything they do. and all of a sudden also when you email them with problems.. it's NEVER their fault. it's your own problem you must fix it. and telkom should have a look at your line, telkom has been at my house 4 times already and they said there is nothing wrong with my line. i am still waiting for that moron that is suppose to come back to me who said there was a problem with my account and he was supposed to do tests... and i still haven't gotten ANY feedback from openweb till date regarding that topic. this is what you get when it's the only ISP who offers "helpdesk" support when no one is at home to address their problems.. when everyone is at work. so when you get home and need helpline support... guess what ? NONE! cause they are all sitting on their behinds at home!!!!

all other isp's have a 24/7 helpline... oh no not openweb. their "help"line is from 8:30 till 16:30 (as they state it) but you can forget to get a phone answered anytime from 15:45 abouts then the lines either just ring and no one picks up... or you get the message that their lines are off etc blah blah blah.

and about me seeing him face to face ? i dare him to still be as cocky then. i dunno why the hell i decided to go with openweb in the first place. i was prolly unconcious at the time. cause you pay a ISP to render you a service and instead you get nothing. you get a connection that only works half the time, not nearly at the speed they stated it would, you have to refresh webpages 5/6+ times more often than not just to get them to load completely. even just a simple text forum/message board. and then he says he cant "fabricate" reasons as to why it's not working. he blames telkom for it. well.. telkom has been at my house 4 times already. and i know the guy by name now. and they cant find a problem with the line at all.. which i knew was going to happen. cause i had NO problem when i was with telkom. but the moment i started with openweb the problems started rolling in. and their "help"line tells you to phone telkom and get help from them.. (on the odd chance of like 1 in 1000 you actually get to talk to someone)
or something stupid like "reset your router" i wonder if these monkeys are even qualified. or the ONCE i got so someone that said their is a problem with my account after i explained the situation to him.. he takes down my name and number... says he'll do tests and phone me back with the results.. and i am still waiting. this was over a month ago. this is the "oh so brilliant" service your state your getting from openweb. i must be using some pirated version of the ISP not the real one it seems.

ya know what... i think your work for openweb. your one of those "help desk support" monkeys that is supposed to do their job instead you sit here trolling the forums all day ready to jump to openweb's defense incase the truth gets out about what kinda of service they really deliver..

and yes i have tried numerous times. and i get replies like i have to get telkom to test my line. which they have... 4 times!!!!!! and each time they dont find a problem. or they tell me to reset my router. which obviously doesnt help. even the one guy who said there is a problem with my account has never come back to me. (that didnt surprise me to be honest.

haha... no need to be a total a-hole about it. :D

I think you obviously deserve the service you are getting if this is your attitude.

Most of us here know how to use the internet and computers, maybe you should get yourself some dummies books and educate yourself.

Why not just list some of these sites you say you can't access, and ask for an explanation as to why those sites are unreachable?

burn down them openwebz !!!!!

/runs for the safe hills

As with all things in life, either STFU or get another service provider. With your attitude I'm sure OW will crack open a bottle of bubbly as soon as they get your cancellation notice. And if you "had NO problem" when you were with Telkom, why did you move?

Sockpuppet alert. Mods.. do these posters come from the same IP?

Looks like clone trolling to me.
