It took a while but here's a thread as requested.

Installation done by Smart Tech Solar. I discovered them in this thread. They were recommended by a lot of people and their prices were the best of all the quotes I received.

Very happy with the install. I'm just waiting to get a COC done.

It was around R40k for the inverter and around R35k per battery if I remember correctly. Before VAT.

I bought middle December last year so prices may be more or less now.

Installation happened middle January.

I don't see prices dropping anytime soon so under the current circumstances, well done on the awesome looking installation.

You can't put a price to an alternative to Eskom.

Most of the installers I talk to want 80% deposit before the equipment is even in stock....

Imagine they order a 100K of equipment and you decide not to pay. That business is not going to last long.

Yes the earth is bonded.

Yes I had to pay the deposit to pay for the equipment. It was about a month in advance.
