Been using this program for a week now and it was made for my own use but decided to share it for those of you that might find it useful...

This program will stream the MTN Play DSTV Mobile channels on your pc using vlc media player.
Stream quality (resolution) is obviously meant to fit a small mobile phone screen, but I have found the quality to be quite good when sizing the vlc player window upto a quarter of your pc screen.
Full screen playback is not great but still watchable I guess.

If you dont get this screen after running my program, you probably don't have .NET framework 2 or higher. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...cb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en to download it.

Haven't tested my program much so chances are it contains lots of bugs. I am going away on holiday for 3 weeks and will try and fix whatever issues was discovered when I get back. Enjoy....

Ha Ha Why go thru all this if one can simply plug the tv into your cellphone and enjoy :D Even my old Nokia n8 has a DLNA mini port. I used to watch on my friend's flat screen now and then but the resolution is terrible. I don't bother with it anymore.

Thanks for your program it is working great! What is nice about this is you dont need your cellphone handy, just enter your cellphone number and it works... I like to watch the video in the one corner of my pc screen while doing other things on my pc

This looks pretty cool. Just a pitty it won't work for me as I am in Europe

That is not a really a problem, provided you know people in SA. I am watching from the UK without a problem. Actually my friend in SA has a subscription and we are 4 people using his number to view the channels using this program. This program only need a cellphone number, no passwords or anything else. Unfortunately my friend would like to keep his number private otherwise I would have shared with you.

Hi Coolie. Thanks for the hint. I will start hunting down mtn subscribers in SA :-) One question. What is the quality like? Is it the same as the SS live streaming?

No the quality is not as good as the SS live streaming. To get an idea of the quality, check the screenshots in the OP. It is pretty much the same quality you will get if you keep the vlc window at the same size as in the screenshot.

do I need tv-card in laptop

Hi guys. Very interested in this. One question though, do I need a tv card in my pc / laptop for this to work?

thanks ShawnStar. I got it to work. Just to answer two other questions I had here for others: I does require an active internet connection (kinda obvious I know, but not really pointed out before) and the data is not billed to the cellphone number. Thanks Enerdude!

OK seems they closed the "loophole". This program wont work anymore... ;) I was wondering how long it would take them..

i quite enjoyed the program aswell, can we expect an updated version of this app, enerdude
