Springboks vs England 2012 - 3 Test tour

Well I thought the Poms played exceptionally well.
I was pretty surprise, they were great at the rucks, and they have a good replacement for Jonny W.

They did. And that is there biggest problem, they played at or near their best, the Boks on the other hand have lots to improve on.

Hopefully Dirtbin won't be getting any more tests EVER, quite disappointing to see 1000's of empty seats there.

The coldest day in recent history in Durban and you are surprised by this? Rugby has also been turned into a "made for TV sport". It's not our fault that Durbanites are just quicker to catch onto this than the slow residents of other cities.

I'll keep my eye on the remaining tests. I did see tweets this morning saying that tickets were available.

So the game was sold out then?

Couldn't buy any tickets the day before and if I recall correctly, one of the Supersport commentators also mentioned it was sold out. Weather played it's part, that is all.

You're making excuses for the ground not being full.

And you're blaming the weather?

locals were used to seeing their team lose, so they they did not bother as they thought the boks might lose. if you as bos supporter, no weather will keep you away from supporting your team.

i think we playing at only 50% of our game. only changes i will make for the next test is among the loose trio and maybe no. 9. start ruan pienaar and bring hougaard on as a super sub. pietersen looked very slow and out of sorts. i would move hougaard on the wing if we need cover there.

You don't now Durbanites do you? There were 5 requests on the day of the match on Facebook asking if anyone had tickets. We do everything last minute and also are not big fans of paying a fortune for something especially if you have to freeze your nuts off in the process.

Yes,that explains why the top sections, corners and some whole rows were completely empty.
Some sections of the ground are colder than others.

Super 15 tickets like for Stormers vs Bulls are sold old weeks before the time at Newlands.

Strange that people think you can buy a ticket a week before a springbok game.
No chance of that happening at the other grounds.

Durbanites are not as passionate as the Kaapies.

alf - stop stirring. It's getting too funny.

I'd never pick on them, I know how sensitive and emo they can be.

Anyway, usually half the Dirtbin crowd are only there to watch the ref, so they probably figured that Steve Walsh would do a great job and rather stayed at home.

ROFL :D Think I just got some coffee coming out my nose :D

Durbanites must just be filthy rich. I know if I purchased tickets for R400+ a head I'd be at the stadium come the apocalypse.

The price of the tickets has nothing to do with people going or not. If you are a rational person you would weigh up having the hassle of going to the game in the freezing cold and rain (Kings Park isn't as well covered as Newlands) or sitting back in your home nice and warm. For me that was probably the coldest I've been in a while and I've just got back here from the ****ty
Cape winter.

Oh and while I'm at it, why do your beloved Kaapie supporters support the All Blacks when they play?

Very good point! You reckon the Boks would rather have a stadium 3/4 full of Bok supporters or one full up but with only a few thousand supporting the Boks?

A friend of mine had 3 tickets to "a game" but he didn't go. He asked me who was playing over the phone - I was like how did you get the tickets if you don't even know who is playing. He thought it was a Sharks game, and he got the tickets from one of his friends. Wish I had friends like that.

The best game I watched in Newlands I was soaking wet, can't remember seeing anyone getting out of the rain, but then again, where would you go? That was a Stormers game though and the tickets was cheap. If I pay R400 I am definitely going to go.

On the All Blacks thing, there is a lot of reasons, but I think they will all come around sooner or later. Probably later.
