Spur has gone too far

For Spur prices you can eat better elsewhere. Like said before the only reason you would want to go is if you have kids otherwise you don't know of better.

I reckon that was their niche: family dining. And it's why they became so successful.
 
They changing it because they can’t expand (out of SA in more advanced countries) if they keep it all the same. I’ve always found it odd tbh.. but they not the only one.

Isn’t machachos the same.. using Mexican culture appropriation.
 
Btw this isnt something new.. if I recall correctly this came up in the late 1990s or early 2000s but the can just got kicked down the road till late 2010s when the execs were pressed on the issue

Nando’s seem to have managed fine with a bit of Portuguese appropriation.

Spur did try in the UK (complete with Red Indian logos), and weren’t that bad, always seemed full but still ended up closing down.

Nando's was started by Porras, though.

I always did find the Spur adverts a bit cringey, though, with some white actor always portraying the chief. Least they could've done was import a native American for the role!

Ah, unfortunate. When the minion was still young enough to require such entertainment during a lunch outing, we only had to drive an extra 6km to ours, passing a Spur along the way, but not as inconvenient as a 30 minute drive.
