I am looking for O'Reilly (with their tendency to place things in perspective and add additional insight, and authoring discipline) or similar in depth SQL studying with a main focus on queries but other DB aspects welcome as well (but not needed). I am particularly interested in printed material as I display more discipline studying from books. Any suggestions ?

I see the author is from Oracle, don't know if he covers Oracle-specific topics, but sometimes it makes sense to study vendor-specific SQL since each vendor adds their own extensions that you're probably going to use on the job.

I realise that you've stated that you are more disciplined learning from printed material, however as someone who does this professionally I would highly suggest you learn in a more practical fashion via something like Udemy.
