Steam Gateway Timeouts

Hi

I currently own a 4MB telkom DSL line, capped.

Everything works perfectly except that I can't use my steam client properly. I also can't connect to the server properly.

Here are the things that pop out as a 504 Gateway Timeout:

-Add Friend.
-Going to www.teamfortress.com on my browser.
-Steam Trade.
-Going on my Profile.

Can anyone help me out? I've already tried deleting the contents of the steam folder except steam.exe and the steamapps directory.

I'm desperate. Please help me, or just help me to get through to telkom.

I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

Yip, It is an SAIX (TelkomInternet) issue, it has been like this for almost a month or more. A workaround is to use dsl-cache.saix.net (port 8080) as your proxy.

Email [email protected] and log a complaint, they will ask for ping, tracert and proxy tests and then will log the fault with SAIX [They have not replied to me since I sent the infomation].

Reopened.

Yeah I can get unto the website now, but the steam functions still arent working. No more error though.

Has anyone spoken to telkom about this?
 
I still do. It's frustrating on a whole new level.

Even though the proxy I was provided with removed the Gateway Error - the above mentioned functions still don't work.
