Suggest a cooler for FX8320

Hi guys as the title says. I have a AMD FX 8320 and it sounds like a Boeing on a runway whenever it's under even the slightest of load. The stock cooler seems cheap and inefficient.

Not looking to overclock or anything just looking for something cheap that will be quiet enough so I can hear the voices in my head again :D

A coolermaster perhaps?

Can I go cheaper? And still have adequate cooling and less noise?
 
Literally anything's better than stock. I used to use a CHEAP gigabyte g-power cooler, & with good airflow through the case, I never went above 45c at load

Best air cooler for the money according to many. I use it as well. It is big though, so keep the dims in mind.

Looked at it, looks good and like a bargain for cooling... but starting to get a little expensive just to reduce nois. Because that's my only goal to decrease noise to an acceptable level.

This has 3 heatpipes and is still a cheapie, bargain?

I can't comment on anything cheaper to be honest. For me, it never made sense to upgrade my Intel Stock fan if I wasn't going to spend on keeping it cool and quiet. But, I haven't bought AMD for 5 years now (no need to), so I don't know how their stock fans are performing, but I do know AMD runs hot as hell sometimes, so I can see why you'd like to get a better cooler.

The reason why the stock fan is so loud is because of: The AMD CPUs does run hot, and the hotter it gets the more the cooler needs to work to keep it cool. The more the fan needs to spin to keep it cool, the louder it will get. This all is why cooler design is very, very important! And "usually" with coolers, the bigger the better... That's why I suggest you get a decent cooler. One that is well built, performs great, which means it can dissipate heat a lot better and more efficient, which entails lower heat and less fan speed... Less noise! And the cooler will last you for a few builds to come! And you can overclock with it!

I'm not saying you have to get the more expensive one, although I suggest it, there could be a cheap fan out there that can get the heat and noise down for half the price. I just have no clue which ones and for that, you'll need to go and read reviews to see how they performed on similar systems.

Very insightful. I get what you're saying the Cooler Master does seem to be the best bang for buck.

I'll go read some reviews to find out if the cooler master is twice as good for twice the price or if the Deepcool is enough for my needs.

The Deepcool would probably be the better option if money is the thing. But, also look at the other Deepcools and Cooler Masters in the R200 bracjet and how they compare
 
Cooler Master Hyper 212, by far but I am sure if you shop around you will be able to get it cheaper you can also just get the evo weaker fan, and replace the fans with some corsairs later on, still the same cooler just different fans. My 2500k hasn't seen 50 degrees....pretty happy with it
 
It should be either the Zalman CNPS10X Optima or the Hyper 212X, with a tube of Arctic MX-4 if you would like to have the best possible setup.

Note that the cheapest water-cooling kits will be barely better than a Hyper 212, so they're not worth it unless your particular setup can't accommodate a tower cooler.

Um why get the 212X, already pointed out the 212evo is exactly the same(Just a weaker fan) and costs a R100 odd less, add additional R140.00 and get two CM sickleflows at R70 each and use a push pull config, and be done with it.Buy the 212X which is a black fan if you want to use another fan for push and pull options will be another black fan.With the 212 evo you can add two same LED fans if you wanted and still works out cheaper, and the sickleflows will be miles quieter than the 212X fan and look pretty and you save money.

212 works best in a push and pull config.

I have a 212X... It's quiet, the fans are gray, and cooling is perfect! No need to replace the fans
 
Personally wanted a Hyper 212 Evo and would recommend that, but can't find the original locally... If it's not for OC then pretty much anything is better than stock.

One reason is the weaker fan. Another is the fact that getting a Hyper 212 in SA is fairly difficult. The 212 Evo is also discontinued AFAIK. The 212X replaces it at more or less the same price point and still is one of the best bang-for-buck coolers on the market.
 
Go for the 212X. I have a 212Evo and just added a second pwm fan for push pull config and in summer my FX8350 maxes at 65deg under full load overclocked to 4.5Ghz.
