Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've setup a DuoPlus router. If I switch my pc off, do I switch off the router too? If I leave it on after I switch off the pc I see the green internet led is still on, does that mean data is transferring? Must I switch the router off?

You do not need to switch off your router. There is minimal data that will floww, unless someone is connected to your modem using wireless.
Do however disconnect the telephone line from the modem if there is lightning and turn off power (if tyou want to be extra cautious) to prevent damage to the router.
