Well it's not updating atm, when I ping xxxx.mydns.telkomsa.net it's resolving to 105.229.61.196 which is not my current IP - not unusual.Any ideas?

I prefer to use a combination of paid for No-IP and free DtDNS (belt & braces), both have proved very reliable over the years.
So, I log in to http://www.telkom.co.za/today/
Then I scroll down to Activate Dynamic DNS where I land on TI Service Management Tool page where I'm asked for my username and password. I then enter the username and password my router uses to log in to my Telkom account and I'm told I have an invalid username or password.
...
It appears that I can access most things other than Activate Dynamic DNS
Any ideas?
It's been working quite reliably for me for the past few months. Ability to force an update of a stale record should be available in the new portal when DDNS gets there.Well it's not updating atm, when I ping xxxx.mydns.telkomsa.net it's resolving to 105.229.61.196 which is not my current IP - not unusual.

@Ranger
It's not the DDNS that's the issue, it's the telkomsa.net password. I've tried resetting it*via the various forgotten password links as well as via*10210 agent who*manually reset the password to a code I gave her.*My router would not connect with any of the new passwords, so I reloaded its settings from a backup I created on 23/12/16, whereupon*the router immediately connected, which means that the password can't be changed, or that the login being used by the router is not the same account as that for which the passwords are being changed. Is there any way the same me@telkomsa.net account can exist on the Telkom network?

Yes, green internet light is on.Is your ppp session up (or intrrnet light green)?
If the modem is syncing but the PPP won't come up, the most likely cause is the DSLAM or MSAN backhaul to the esr/bng is down.

As far as I read (sorry, on tapatalk, can't easily review previous posts now), your account is working on your modem at present, but you can't use the same credentials on SMT?
Did you try any other tools (customerportal.telkomsa.net or tracker)?
SMT has some bugs and is old and crufty, and authenticates a different way than everything else, so it can be that your current password will work everywhere else. If this is the case, one root cause for this could also prevent password changes for your account from propagating.
This is one reason why we hope to move it's functionality to customerportal, which is modern and clean and easy to develop on and test.
I can't investigate anything without a username though ...
How about a screen shot as to where you're typing in your password and unable to login , I'll give it a shot using my login details and let you know ?see pm for username.
