Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Something isn't right you guys! it feels as if I'm being shaped starting from 6pm, 7pm for streaming only

Is this just me or everyone else is facing this issue?
Is telkom quietly restricting us?

My conspiracy theory, they are going to claim that the Exchange is congested and start offering LTE bundles... Last night from 18:00 until roughly 21:00 the performance was abysmal. My 8mb DSL line performed at dial up speeds, it was horrendous...

Called it. Just got off the phone with them. The only thing the call agent can think of is that the Exchange is congested during peak times...
 
So according to Telkom call agent they have an international connectivity problem. Doesn't really explain why my line speed gas dropped exactly 50%...

Idk if it's related to this but for the past week my line speed also drops around 6pm and then returns to normal after a few hours. If they are having international connectivity problems, it doesn't make sense how it's consistently at the same time everyday and then just randomly gets fixed and repeat again... Something isn't adding up. This isn't the first month this is happening also. It's happened several times as well in previous months.

Same. The call center has a on repeat message that due to the flood customers in kzn and eastern cape will experience issues. They definitely are having problems but trying to convince the call center people is like trying to prosecute Zuma...
 
I'm in Fourways and my 20Mbit VDSL has been slow (on Telkom Internet) since yesterday. Works fine on Afrihost though.

It has been terrible for couple of weeks now. Having the same and issues as you. Streaming is generally okish but some apps such as FB or websites dont work very well at times especially at night after 6pm

Pretoria East Lynwood 20mbps fibre uncapped.
 
I’m in Edenvale. My 10mbit line is going at half speed. Been like this for about a week. Ping to local telkom is 90ms at the moment.
 
Called the call center again and now the agent is saying that my line was configured incorrectly. The exchange was configured to 10mb while my account is set for 8mb and this will cause issues... So he reset the line and changed the config to match but I am not hopeful. I fully suspect that at 18:00 my line will be back to half speed...
 
Anyone else having trouble connecting to Telkom ISP in Durban since about 11pm?

Not sure if related but mentioning it just in case someone with more knowledge can shine a light.

My work fiber has been performing extremely badly since early yesterday, VOX have investigated and it is an upstream provider issue, the link between Durban and P.E. is performing horrendously, big packet loss. At the time I was given that info they could not tell me the reason why just that the technicians are working on it. So if Telkom is routing through to P.E. and then to next hop that could be a reason why we in Durban are having problems.

Was on and off last night again. Streaming was ok but certain services struggled to load even basic images.
 
Apparently my line (hanging from pole) was damaged.

Thats why I had asked them to dig it underneath the ground when installed
My fibre restored. A pole will also be installed for my fibre line.

Although manhole outside my driveway they state they cant run fibre directly to my house from the manhole/conduit
 
Facebook has really been slow on Telkom all day. If I switch to Axxess it's fine. It's a strange problem.
