Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

In Cape Town on 4meg uncapped and only get 2 meg according to Speedtest.net and this site's speed test, but when using MWeb I get full 4 meg speed. Torrents running at around 30 kB/s, Youtube can go up to 480p but buffers on 720p and http downloads run at around 100 kB/s. Like I mentioned when using MWeb everything runs pretty much full speed. My biggest issue at the moment is my line running at half the speed with Telkom.

My problem exactly on my 10meg only getting half the speed of my line but on other isp's i get full speed.

Latency has increased by 30ms avg. Still better than is used to be, by far.


My Youtube videos are buffering like crazy this morning @360p and huge instances of lag on PS3 games.
Might be exchange related though.

Glad it is working though, although not smoothly atm for me.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I will pass it on to other resources who were involved (if they aren't lurking).

I don't know what Argus is (will google right after EDIT:God speed, looks hectic to learn :/) but sleep can be arranged if enough beer is sent however you will have to let us know just how many gets to your breaking point lol .

As for network today, all seems good myside. Youtube, some light p2p all ran full speed from using it around 01:38am this morning. That recent tornado and gun shooting overseas is crazy .

Has anyone received their bill for this month...
both myself and a friend charged almost double what we should have been charged...
I should have been charged approx. R885 but instead got billed for R1604.94
Was told that it is one month in advance...
How does that make sense when I paid in advance when I initiated my contract about 4 years ago...
I am no longer on contract and thus am paying month to month...
This month is a trial so if I feel like it, i will move ISP's... hence no in advance payment thanks.

Anycase, I was told that they would credit me because I was billed for my DO3 as well...

Who else was billed incorrectly?

In Cape Town Day 12 of 4 meg uncapped with Telkom. Speedtest result still shows half to less than half the line speed.

Today during business hours I received full speed on torrents. Still going strong.

Ok news-servers + torrents is dead , no youtube , facebook pics takes forever to load and i'm on 4mb line in the Boland area western cape. :-(

So i phoned ADSL help desk today , the lady said my speed issues have nothing to do with the network upgrade and she reset my port.
I'm still experiencing all the problems mentioned above they have logged a case for me.....so lets see what happens

EDiT: Okay, tried a torrent and it appears to be going near full speed so speedtest not so accurate :/.

Issues will always creep up but rest assured that ranger's team is aware ;-).

Please take a look at the speedtest competition thread for any issues before reporting them here (my int speed looks wonky) but i know it will improve.

Quick question to ranger perhaps, is it possible to have your Telkom analogue line and Adsl line combined into a Do Broadband package instead of having to cancel both and registering for a new package ?
