My NZB downloads are currently running at 43 kb/s (basically throttled to a 383kbps connection on my 2mbps line and account). According to TI Tracker I am "Soft capped" on the Telkom Uncapped account. What BS. It looks like it happened when I crossed the 200gb mark.

just called telkom and asked them for port reset which they did and still dead slow so they logged a fault after i read them my test results from last night....lol

My usage said I'd used 200.2GB and been soft capped on Tuesday.
I checked yesterday and today and it still says I've used 200.2GB even though I've downloaded around 2-3GB since Tuesday.

3.1 Telkom Internet Uncapped Fair Usage Policy All Telkom Internet Uncapped accounts is shaped bandwidth based and provides unlimited data usage, however we do manage uncapped accounts on the performance of our network at any given time. We monitor our overall network usage and if our data pool capacity is stretched we dynamically shape and throttle certain customer's uncapped accounts to relieve congestion. These uncapped customers will be chosen based on their usage trends. The uncapped users who have used the highest amount of data will be throttled first if there is network congestion and/or impairment. It is our goal to ensure the best possible experience for both the high data usage and lower data usage customers given the parameters we have and as such we reserve the right to manage Uncapped ADSL accounts as we deem necessary to ensure optimal performance across our network for all of our customers.

Having my 2mb Uncapped account softcapped at 200gb is one thing. The fact that Telkom totally deny any softcapping/throttling & insist that my account is NOT softcapped is utterly disgusting!

can totally feel with you sally...
same issues here, only used 32 gig so far but internet speed on local traffic is pathetic. Latency chills somewhere around 300 ms....dont even get me started talking about int. traffic...poor poor performance telkom!

So if capped and uncapped are both being softcapped, why am I paying for uncapped again? It's kinda become the same package, except capped users are now better off, because they know what their limits are.

1: If this is a mistake, will it be sorted but the end of the month?
2: If this isn't a mistake, will we be given some gauge on when the bandwidth usage of the network will allow for us to get full speed back?
3: If this isn't a mistake and the idea is to leave us capped, what's the point of uncapped now, if capped users have the same benefits and restrictions?
