By doing a ritual at full moon, I bet. I've been trying for days to cancel. At this point I don't even care about the 30day notice anymore, I just want to actually get the cancellation logged. Can't even get that far. The average waiting time in the call centre queue for cancellations is 40mins (after which they more often than not cut your call off instead of doing something), while for new services/upgrades it's 2mins. It's bloody disgustingly unethical, is what it is.

Can't you log the cancellation in a Telkom store, if you're not worried about the 30 day notice?

I just want report my experience on bandwidth usage.
I see many relatively low figures reported by some and normally does not compare to the good experience I have.

My downloads for the month was on about 240GB over the weekend and the green bar was just above the "A" in "Status"
(The status bar indicates your current utilisation this month.)

That is about a quarter of my possible usage according to the bar.
95% of my torrents are scheduled for download between the suggested hours of 00:00 - 06:00.

I decided to download War Thunder(pc version), a game I normally play on the PS4.
It is 6.8GB in size and I downloaded it twice + some drivers and utilities and torrents, meant I downloaded 19GB for the day.
These downloads were mostly done during the day and early evening and the scheduled torrent during suggested hours.

The impact on my usage bar was huge.
The bar is currently above the 2nd "R" of "current"
(The status bar indicates your current utilisation this month.)

So if you are struggling with low download figures (excluding low speeds and line problems), you should really schedule bulk downloads between 00:00 - 06:00.
It has a huge impact and will give you much more additional capacity to download, should you need it and obviously it reduces the pressure on bandwidth during more busy hours of the day.

Hmm, when I got home, I switched to my personal 2Mbps Telkom Uncapped, and put some 720p youtube on for the kids. The first time it was pulled from Youtube international, and it had to buffer a bit (was getting around 700-800kbps). When it finished, they (well, my 4yr-old) started it again (seems to have figured out XBMC to some extent), and then it was coming from the local Youtube servers, and played immediately without buffering.

We planned for our own NNTP proxy/cache, but haven't had time to put it in (a few of our team were off sick), but arranged up front to continue using news.saix.net. It shouldn't have been too bad today (was prioritised over P2P).

As soon as we have our NNTP, I will provide details here (would probably be nntp.telkomsa.net, and will initially be fast only for North and East region)
Was this new NNTP server ever implemented?

Just had one of those crazy spikes again...

Got a new laptop yesterday and I just installed Dropbox. I have about 320MB of data in there and it took about 2 minutes to download the bunch.

Well, not being able to stream anything using the services I've paid for, I'm now queuing up the entire internet so I'll at least have something to watch going forward.

Well - I'm moving along at 880KB/s, probably for the next 20min.

If you're still here after all this...

***

Personally, I'd cancel now if there was an obvious alternative, but I am not sure there is.
I don't understand?
Did you get some official feedback?
If you did, why not share what is going on?
