I am pretty sure that everyone in this thread has tried just about everything they can think of.

The only guaranteed solution at the moment appears to be to quit and find another ISP.

For those who are looking to game online and don't have the extra cash to fork out for other accounts, i suggest you get Afrihosts free 1GB account. Its not a lot but it can at least cover you for some of your game time.

Don't know good axxess capped is for gaming but their R19/GB accounts are excellent value and quick to set up with a credit card, EFT with proof of payment is also an option.

Yeah well ive bought myself the 10 gig Afrihost account for R50 and its good for gaming. Just thought those who dont want to setup payment then the 1 gig is an option.

Does downloading from the SAIX news server count towards making you a power user? What about downloading from other local servers?

I used to assume not because I had usenet running all the time and the tracker didn't seem to climb that fast, but some confirmation would go a long way to helping me optimise how I use my connection.

Your download habits during peak time that counts more. The advice from many here is schedule your downloads from around 00:00 - 06:00 daily but you may need to adjust to your own preference.

Thanks ranger for the update, something is broken again. 1Mbps speeds on 10Mbps line (120KB/s) :/

Afrihost running well over 800KB/s. Pings ~1/3 of Telkom. Please fix your service and refund everyone for lack thereof. It's February. It doesn't take a MONTH to fix something.
