Yes sadly due to this I had to cancel my Hulu subscription. Netflix still works fine but Hulu adverts just stutter and buffer for EVER (on 4mb uncapped). :(

10meg line just as bad ... ad stuttering is killing it for me.

July-October was perfect. Since then .... shocking.

What are the (rough) guidelines per account speed?

IE:
1Mb =100GB
2Mb=200GB
4Mb=400GB
etc...
I thick this was close to limits a couple of months ago, but the last few months downloads scheduled between 00:00 - 06:00 were zero rated afik.

I read somewhere in this thread that someone did about 160GB on 1Mbps line. Not sure if that was the limit though.
I haven't pushed my 4mbps account to those limits, so unfortunately can't comment on the limit.

I am not sure if it's a Telkom issue, but I'd like to sort out a very bad latency issue with this game:

http://www.pathofexile.com/

As far as I understand this is the game server I am playing on:

Pinging 37.58.67.222 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 37.58.67.222: bytes=32 time=196ms TTL=54

Ping statistics for 37.58.67.222:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 195ms, Maximum = 196ms, Average = 195ms

In-game I get latency anywhere between 300-900+ ms.

So, what do I do next?

No they still count. just torrents are throttled I think Ranger mentioned this some time back .
What does "Orange" mean? Does telkom give you a shaping rating?
also, how did you manage so many gigs? Is it mostly streaming/NNTP/torrents or HTTP?

Are downloads between 00:00 and 06:00 zero rated?
They are for capped accounts till sometime next year afik.
Not sure if they are absolutely zero rated, but as I understood it, you will get more data for your uncapped account if you scheduled any downloads between 00:00 - 06:00.
Shaping is also lifted on torrents during that period afik.

This post hints at what I'm saying:

Green/ Orange/ Red on titracker https://secure.telkomsa.net/titracker/
Son just set me up with bitlord and kids doing stuff on the ExBox also was tired of being throttled on 1 gig just started 2gig
Lots of documentaries and TV series from Youtube

might have done more if dident have 14 hours power out .

I have not seen any NNTP throttling. I get full line speed most of the time unless is it still busy caching on the SAIX Usenet server.

I find that nzbs are hardly ever shaped and am finding that I use nzbs more and more since the torrent shaping can be quite hectic during the day. Torrents run between 5-30kB/s.
Streaming is where I find Ti performs well. I never have any issues streaming, be it YouTube or XBMC :)

I was upgraded to 10meg (sync at 8meg) and my http download speeds are only slightly higher at +- 460 KB/s (Down Them All speed in Firefox). What speeds should I be getting on a 8meg line (uncapped)??

Ye i don't get it. July-Oct Hulu was operating 100%. It all of a sudden went to slumps. And I find it odd not everyone on this forum using Hulu are experiencing this. Its almost like it only affects certain parts of South Africa. I am trying to rationalize why Hulu was working 100% at one stage, and now suddenly it doesn't at all. Yet there is no word from Telkoms representatives for 2 months now. I have asked about this numerous times, as my kid really likes the children's content on Hulu. I would really like to re-subscribe.

10meg line just as bad ... ad stuttering is killing it for me.

come on really... 8 hours of downloading from 10pm last night till now and only 785.2mb downloaded via torrent... what is happening?
