Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

I just got a tweet from the social network team saying that the international issue has been resolved.

Can anybody confirm?

At the moment client service don't know what to say anymore, one guy want to sell me the following: "It's a very complex problem and it will take weeks to sort out." Man, this is so lame and laughable, for such a big business this is weak, very weak. I am starting to wonder if they ever gonna sort this out!!! Also hoping to cancel my internet with Telkom, struggling to get through to accounts to cancel, just show you how busy they are, because people are cancelling this poor service from Hellkom!!!!

Well if MyBB is a representation of 'everyone'.
It's more a representation of people who actually know when their internet isn't performing and contact a viable source for answers, rather than the blatantly ignorant call centre and sit on hold for an hour, rendering their line uncallable to anyone while you wait... Particularly bad for home businesses. Sure you can't hire engineers to be your call centre workers, but I'm sure there are people more than willing to actually work hard for the job...

Performance update:
Can't stream a thing, and I might as well go make coffee while a page loads. All pings/tracerts are fine. Just throttling the literal hell out of everything.

Been trying since 11am to cancel my TI account. On hold for 40mins every time, then I get cut off. The one time I did get through, I got cut off mid-conversation.
Classy. Real classy.

Decided to get ADSL in November for Netflix after seeing mostly praise for Telkom. Got an Apple tv mid December. Netflix was running superb. Upgraded to a 4mb account. After 5 days of Netflix it turned to crap. Bought a capped bundle from Afrihost and things were back to normal. Been watching this thread for a month to see if Telkom mentions anything but it appears they don't give a damn. Tried to cancel today but was on hold for 20 minutes before being cut off. WTF Telkom? Just respond with a truthful answer about when this will be sorted. My wife keeps telling me to not pay for something that doesn't work but I guess that logic doesn't apply to Telkom. Looks like I should rather give my R700 to monochoice because they at least have a functioning setup. I'm in Cape Town btw.

Cool story bro.

Happy for 'ya !

Glad it's fixed your side. Not sure how you conclude it's working better for most. You been reading the same thread since 5 Jan when they swtiched off the lights ?

Glad NNTP is back to full 10Mbps line speed, but why should other protocols be nearly non-existant ?

When I joined in July this was an excellent product.

I had positive things to say.

Since late last year it has gone from bad to worse.

And all the while my Afrihost backup account has given 110% performance.

Something is not right.

FTS.

Not a story bro, just my experience.
I been with Ti a year now and this was the 1st time I had such crappy performance.

You only have to peruse the last few pages of this thread to realise thats not the case.

If you look at the number of bad speed posts the first 2/3 weeks of Jan and compare to the last week there is a drop. I think this thread must have gained 100 pages in those 2/3 weeks.
Its either that or people got tired of complaining.

You hit the nail on the head. I had two trial accounts and both gave 100% service. Telkom are now sending sms that the problem is fixed. Does the above speedtest indicate a service you would be willing to pay for? Three weeks and they cannot fix jack s hit.
And sadly anything they say has to be seen to be believed.

Not playing GW 2 because I am lagging my arse of, and loosing fights I should have won easily, pisses me of majorly ...

So now I am fidgeting with my phone

If that was my speedtest result I would be voting with my wallet and moving. I was giving Ti till the end of Jan to shape up or I was shipping out.
I feel no affliation to any ISP and if I'm not happy with the service I will move.
I've done it before and I'll probably do it again.

Things with Ti had been good during the last year I been with them and never had any issues till recently.

But I'll stop posting the good news, like Electric, because it appears to frustrate some.
