Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Got my LIT box going again. thanks to @ Akirky, It's now fully updated, but still working through the AV port on the box rather than HDMI, so the picture is a bit crappy. I'll fiddle again tomorrow to see if I can resolve the resolution problem.

Lit recognizes my drive when plugged in,but wont show up then

Not sure to be honest. I tested with Archos (media player) in Play Store. I prefer this to play local/network media than Kodi.

Can you not see it in ES? Possibly its pulling too much power from the USB port. Is it the only device plugged in?

What is your drive formatted as (FAT32, NTFS, exFat)?

Formatted as NTFS. Only device plugged in yes, and no not showing up in ES. I’m basically running it via my router now over the network

I have the AO7 model. Has been updated. Netflix is awesome. But dstv Now works, but I have to keep putting in a code to let it start up. Also live TV gives me about 6 channels only.

Any ideas to correct

Cheers

Ok, I can't open drive with ES either. Archos Video Player can though, maybe they added something for NTFS support. As I said, I find Archos better and simpler than Kodi for local and network media.

Archos works great thanks. Picks up the drive easily

Is there a way to scrape movie info, posters, artwork etc for content stored on hard drive?

Yeah, under settings there is a rescan option that scans internal, SD cards and USB. You can also add network locations and scan them.

No what I meant was, is there a way to get like the poster and movie info per movie? I clicked on the re scrap all, but nothing happens

Rescrape "rescrapes" folders and drives already added. You need to go two options down in settings and click "Rescan". That will scan you local storage including SD and USB.

Netflix is no good on my B05 box after the updates. It plays for a couple of minutes then stops with an error message - something about it being unable to play that particular content at that time, should try later. Any clues for a fix?

Just do not get impatient, and brick it, if you do, you will have a lot longer wait for NetFlix.

Loadshedding, is cause of my annoyance at present. Eskom making their stupidity and greed my problem.

All updated before load shedding today :) Youtube, DSTV Now, Showmax and Netflix all working.

I didn't really expect an update from Telkom any time soon (if at all) for the LIT box or the Netflix certification, but it was working as was. Very excited that the update happened. Theoretically my LIT box is now better than my Mi Box (due to the etxra USB and ethernet).
