Hi all

So recently my LTE cyan blue light on my b315 router suddenly turned green. when I log into router is still shows connected to 4g. I have also tried forcing to telkom 4g ect but light stays green.

At night my download speeds and ping is horrible to an extend that i cant stream nor play games.

According to b315 user manual the green light means connected to an ethernet network. But I am using an externel antenna to the router with cat5 to pc.

Can anyone assist me to what I can do?

Still waiting on telkom response since last week.

could it be my router? I havnt tested that yet, struggling to find one to test.

Could be anything... although if its being forced down from LTE its the network that's refusing to allow it to register on the LTE network.

I was hoping there is something I can do on my side to fix.Waiting on telkom light take a while.

Log into your router and set it to 4g instead of auto, also check if roaming is enabled.

Green means 2G. Dark Blue is 3G and Lightblue means 4G

You need to log into your your default being 192.168.8.1

If you did not change anything go to this link.

http://192.168.8.1/html/mobilenetworksettings.html Username and password would be admin and admin if you left them on default. Force it to 4G Only (2300MHz) and check the speeds. if it's slow go back and change it to 4G Only (1800MHz) and test again.

You can always change between them to find the best frequency to use really depends on tower congestion in the area.

You can also go here

and change the apn to unrestricted

This will help Open the NAT so you can use party chat on consoles.

I wil try to change the apn and get back to you guys.

I have already forced it to 4G on both frequencies but stays the same. I also tried selecting network manually bit also no succes.

Wil check roaming does is have to be enabled or disabled

The roaming does not matter because of the new roaming deal. Make SURE you don't see Telkom SA -R because that is roaming. If it just shows TelkomSA then you are good to go.

Maybe try resetting the router by pressing the reset button. Could also be a tower outage but the light should be light blue when forced to 4G Only. It can't be another colour unless there is no coverage then it will be Red.

tried resetting router last night also did not work, light stays green even when forced to 4G. Oak on the phone at telkom said today green light is right? if i force to 3g its darm blue witch is correct by my means but ons 4 G and auto it stays green

I also noticed that something is odd with my Telkom LTE connection. Even though it's on 4G and I've also tested forcing it to 4G, sites are loading slowly and I'm getting "502 bad gateway" errors when browsing mybb. Haven't used the sim for a few weeks so not sure if this is a new issue.

@Super_Sonic Yes sim is in correctly and i just mad sure ive got a b315s-936. stil slow with high ping most nights. Still waiting om telkom to get back to me on this

Anyone else having an issue with Telkom LTE (B315) saying access denied when trying to connect? Restarted etc, same issue.

My LTE has been very slow all day after being great for the past year.

Anyone else?

Same here. I'm getting slow speeds the last few days and latency all over the place, going over 1000ms randomly. It's currently working like a **** 3G network from 10 years ago. This is what 3G on an overloaded network used to be like but only during peak times and it's now after midnight.

Not sure what is going on with Telkom LTE as I have been using them for 6+ years and have never had issues like I've had in the last couple months. Might be related to their roaming deals with MTN/Vodacom or their new uncapped LTE contract. Network is complete crap now even when forcing 4G and Telkom LTE manually. Very disappointing from Telkom.

I have a B525.. also with Telkom. and from last friday had some real bad network issues.
it was like all of a sudden though... seems to be a little better now..

Also if you log into the router you can restart it from the settings. i did this and set to 4g only.
