Telkom Mobile Data bundle finished on 4x devices

A few friends of mine's mobile data bundles are apparently "finished". I have 3 confirmed people who it happened to all at once.

and it all happened at the same time, all the contracts are on different names.

Does anyone know of a problem on the telkom network?

When you say "finished", do you mean the data is being used up abnormally quickly or it just "disappears" and the balance is zero?

I also use TM, and recently thought the same thing was happening to me, until I checked my phones data usage, and there was a background app which was pulling all my data. Not saying that your problem is the same, but maybe have a look.

Also, install the TM app, and check your balance daily, you can quickly see if something weird is happening to your data.
 
@Peder if your friend is running background applications on his mobile device such as: e-mail, Google+, Pinetrest, Twitter etc, all contributes towards data. One dude on the MTN forum was outraged that 3-4 Gb of data vanished, then upon his investigation he noticed that Google+ was running in the background and eating majority of his data.

Tell your friend to install an app - data manager available on GOOGLE Play and in iTunes store
 
This happened to me on prepaid.
1 min I had 100mb. A few seconds later a sms pops up
"Data bundle is zero"
It is some kind of software bug on TM side.
 
I did not think i'd ever be asking the same question as you guys. All of a sudden about R20 is disappearing from my balance every day and i NEVER make phonecalls, only use whatsapp. Thank god i'm on prepaid - MTN.

I took the phone in to MTN and they checked for surprise subscriptions but there are none, mind you the guy at that MTN's no genius.

Will download that app and check it out, tks Richard and Rodga. Please everyone keep us posted when you find the culprit.

Any updates from you guys? I've deleted most of my downloaded apps including an antivirus and make sure i close all apps and clear RAM regularly. My usage is looking better but will continue to keep checking.

Hi Peder

We assure you that we do not have problems with our data usage systems. Most of the time when data usage is out of proportion on the customers' side, we find the problem to be some applications running updates on the background.
