Telkom Mobile LTE Speedtest Results
Since the end of June, I'm struggling to get speeds above 15mbps on average. I used to get 50-80mbps. Full 5 bars signal on 2300Mhz. I've been happy since Feb 2016 but this recent drop in speeds is starting to annoy me. Calls to Telkom have fallen on deaf ears. Not sure what to do now :-/
Nope as far as I know it's not possible. It would need carrier aggregation on the uplink and the devices that support that is so scarce I don't even think they exist.

Telkom Mobile Data is not working now across North Johannesburg. What is going on? I got stuck in traffic because my maps couldn't load, and it is still not working.
I didn't have any issues this morning in the Northriding area
Telkom Mobile voice was down here in EL earlier this morning. Data was unaffected.

At the time the RSRP was -80 and the RSSI was -66.
Cannot remember the rest but I very rarely get better than -80.
Funny enough on 1800 mhz I get -74 but the speed is only around 15 Mbps although the upload is 20+ Mbps.
So on big files when I download I set it to 2300 mhz and upload to 1800 mhz

Hitting 20Mbps consistently this morning which is a rarity to even touch 20Mbps. Vodacom Roaming or Eskom's load shedding jolted my Telkom tower to life?

My speeds in richards bay have gotten really bad. For the last 4-6 wks i have barely gotten over 4Mbps... whats gone wrong here....

Do you know what frequency your modem is set to, 1800 or 2300 Mhz ?
The limited amount of towers in Richards bay and everyone hopping on the LTE train it was expected to happen.
Wierda Park Centurion still going on okay after like 9 months.

This is also a big worry here.
Hilton residential is about the same size as Richards Bay with only one tower serving the whole lot.
Yes and Telkom really pushing lte even the rate limited uncapped deals it can kill the speeds. Just 15 customers on the rate limited uncapped deal of 10Mbps already means good bye speeds at night.
Here where I stay it's a small mini Telkom tower maxing out at 100Mbps or so for the whole tower. Lucky for me surrounded by openserve fibre so nit a lot of people on the tower and it's pretty much all mine.

Does anyone have trouble streaming from international servers with the smartbroadband package? My download speed to to local servers is around 50mbps but to a number of new your servers I get around 2mbps, also the ping jumps like crazy to international at times. This happens on and off and is not consistent with the international traffic
