1800mhz and 2300mhz are the 2 main frequencies.
The B618-22D is intended for rain frequencies and will only support the 1800mhz frequency with telkom.

You will need a b618-65D version to take advantange of the 2300mhz frequency to achieve good speeds.

Thank you for the help :) What package do you guys reccomend? I see they have an uncapped package for R899 and the 100GB (200Gb + 200Gb) for R1059? I'm mainly gonna use it for gaming.

Are you looking to take out a contract or go prepaid?

The uncapped is only available on contract while the capped version is both prepaid and contract.

The uncapped is throttled to 10mbps with 150gb (fup) thereafter 50gb (4mbps) thereafter 2mpbs for the remainder of the month.

Honestly the 200gb + 200gb is the best otion as it is unthrottled for max speed and offers more data that the uncapped version which isn't really uncapped. If you fo go with a contract you will get a free router

The uncapped package is a bit of a joke.
The 200+200 prepaid is the way to go as the anytime data rolls over for 2 months.
I use the 60+60 prepaid package and it's great.
In my case with a B315 I get 90 Mbps on 2300 Mhz and only 25 Mbps on 1800 Mhz.

Is the SmartBroadband Wireless Prepaid usable on Vodacom roaming?
I have a Telkom sim and have LTE coverage but I am pretty sure it is only due to the Telkom and Vodacom roaming deal.

Most places still do not have Vodacom Roaming and as far as I know is only due on the 1st June, otherwise I see no problem with it once it's going.

Any reason why i get the below kinds of speeds when using any Telkom server in South Africa (JHB, CPT, DBN), but when switching to any other ISP outside of Durban (MWEB, MTN, etc.) i get the second set of results?
Streaming from Netflix works great, but trying to stream from DSTV Now is unusable.
Am i just a culprit of congestion?

mmm I get something very similar.
I don't get the Johannesburg option but like you say, anything outside Durban.

Try Internationally, like Germany.

My smartbroadband wireless also did this for a while during the evenings and I'm also in durban, setting my apn to unrestricted sometimes helped but not always. In my case this exact same issue JUST went away one day and never returned so it is some form of shaping/throttling.

Using a vpn might help if it is shaping.

It might be more of traffic routing issue as so far the problem seems to be centred around durban traffic leaving durban.

And yet with downloads etc I have no problem.
Did a test last night around 11pm with 5 torrents and they all came in at around 2.1 MB/s each which amounts to 10.5 MB/s

I take it that there is no fibre option in your area ?

I wish there was bud :(
Did you try Rain LTE uncapped option ? R1059 is fibre terrority. The only problem with Telkom Mobile is its FUP on the uncapped option. The limits are not good enough. When fibre is available in my area I'll be switching over and will be saying goodbye to TM.The limits are a joke as in TM FUP .The uncapped FUP is crap to say the least and the throttled speed is not reasonable. There has to be a better competitor. The capped option is a better deal but with that price , the data should be a bit more than 200GB.
