Hi,

Is there somebody at Telkom with more braincells than a helpline operator I can talk to?

Doing a trace route via Telkom ADSL to an overseas server gives

Tracing route to xxxxxx.com [aa.bb.cc.dd]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 3 ms 3 ms 2 ms 10.219.127.201
2 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms dsl-145-192-01.telkomadsl.co.za [165.145.192.1]

3 14 ms 19 ms 21 ms 196.43.11.58
4 17 ms 14 ms 14 ms 196.43.24.9
5 349 ms 349 ms 349 ms ny-ip-dir-globalc-pos-7-0.telkom-ipnet.co.za [19
6.43.9.149]
6 347 ms 347 ms 347 ms nyk-i3-geth3-2.telia.net [213.248.82.237]
7 346 ms 348 ms 346 ms nyk-bb1-link.telia.net [213.248.82.145]
8 348 ms 349 ms 348 ms nyk-b2-link.telia.net [213.248.82.206]
9 * * * Request timed out.

Doing the same via a server at Altonet

works perfectly.

Same problem here

Hi Kaspaas, I have the same problem here. My problem is that I host on international server and this effect my mail server. Cannot receive email via mail server, thus loosing pockets full of money.

Does anybody know if somebody is working on the problem??? Was like this yesterday and still the same this morning.

I use Telkom as ISP and some of my friends use mweb as ISp and we all have the same problem, so it seems as if it is not ISP related.

Problem...

I think this is what my problem is about... (yet no1 responded to my post!)...

I host domains on an international server... I cant access my control panel, I cant access my FTP, I cant ping the site and I cant download my POP3 mail from the mail server... is that it?

If you need to get your email, there is another way: www.mail2web.com works. (probably cos they not in SA with telkom)

eish!

webmail works

Funny thing is that ftp and mail server do not work, but I can log into my webmail facility on the same domain and read the emails there. Thus 100% proof that nothing is wrong with the mail server because it can receive and send emails normally via brwosing but not if you access mail.digiprop.co.za directly

..

Yes, and if I connect via my iBurst, 3G or GPRS connections I can access everything - FTP, POP3, etc... everything that does not work with Telkom!

Doesnt anyone have contacts with Telkom that can help us out?? RPM? Please? Im tired of trying to explain to the telkom rookie what the problem is... all I get as a reply is "eh, i dun kno".

Telkom's affecting our businesses now...

We are having the same problem with our server.

I can access it fine, Shaped and Unshaped DSL accounts.

But some of my clients cannot access our severs mail, or even ping or telnet into it.

I suspect this is DNS Related, and im using Static DNS Servers and never have problems accessing our server.

BTW : Our server traceroute also runs over telia.com.

I also have a server at Softlayer in Dallas - Tracert is fine - goes over gblx then above.net

:( Anyone got any idea
