Telkom Speed upgrades

I am not sure about the 1mb lines, but FYI, he said the 2mb upgrade time is from the 18th of Nov to the 23rd of Dec...

Hope they finish before that!
THe previous news article said there is a network freeze in December and January. I definitively don't want to wait until February

My line has been upgraded, from 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps, but funny thing is the max speed in my area is still at 4 Mbps, so whats gonna happen, sounds like putting a Bugatti Veyron Engine in a MAN truck to me.

Same with me, seems they still need to upgrade the exchanges. Not sure when that will happen. I was told my exchange should be upgraded by the first week in November, so I'm expecting a change pretty soon.

Main exchange has been upgraded in March already but I'm still only able to get 4 Mbps max on the UMC RST2-BLYU :@

Dont give up guys. Let see who can hold on the longest. It's a free call after all.

damn lines are so busy everybody phoning to upgrade!

I want my 10mps!!
Phoning won't help. Just spoke to them, they said my exchange hasn't been upgraded yet, and I have to wait until the end of the year. Could happen anytime in that period.

They're excited, let them have fun! :D
LOL! Yeah... Can't wait any longer! Need it now!! Don't say you're upgrading it and then I have to wait.... That's like telling me "Congrats, you won R50 000, but you'll only be eligible for the prize once you reach the age of 80... If you reach that age.."

2 years ago phoning helped as it was just a software switch.

ahhhh i understand. when does the new pricing kick in. i want to double my speed now already. does the improved pricing only kick in when its your turn to upgrade?

I can confirm that my work's line, near Main Road, Somerset West has been upgraded today from 4mb to 6mb. Seems strange that it can't support 10mb though, being about 400 meters from the exchange.

meh if the upgrade is working like this, then it isnt good news for me :/. I have 2 exchanges, that are the same distance away, one supports full 10Mb and the other goes up to 6Mb. Guess they not going to fix this and give me what I'm paying for which is full 10Mb
